16R is a tremendous documentary/film looking at aviation via one of the worlds most notable general aviation airport. From the camera work to editing and terrific visuals, this film really captures the curiosity and awe that you would experience being in the cockpit of the aircraft they portray.Paired with 'Living in the Age of Airplanes' you'll find a new appreciation for aviation.

Growing up as a child of a WW II Army Air Forces B-17 Navigator and Bombardier Veteran, my dad always took us to every air field and military museum that we passed by on vacations. His actions taught his children to respect and appreciate the wonders of flight and the men and women who took great risks for this country. One Six Right is not only a tribute to military pilots, but to all pilots. The cinematography is awe-inspiring, and the brilliant young director, Brian J. Terwilliger and his amazing crew, allow the viewer to escape earth while watching this captivating movie. Reading Brian's account of how he brought this movie to fruition is amazing and very creative. Brian did not give up on his goal - to make a movie highlighting the history of the airport where he actually earned his pilot's license. One Six Right brilliantly ties the history of the Van Nuys Airport to aviation history as a whole. Every child should view this just for the wonderful history lessons contained within the movie. The movie brings the viewer to the current time era - what a wonderful trip to take! The music soundtrack is so beautiful, too. Make sure to read the end credits - very interesting. Thank you, Mr. Terwilliger - I only wish I could have shown this movie to my dad....

I stumbled upon this film on-line and literally fell in love with aviation almost as strongly as I fell in love with my wife. I have always been a fan of aviation but, this extraordinary film captures the emotions of flight unlike anyone has been able to convey before. The cinematography on the ground and especially in the air is outstanding, the editing is top notch and the score is on par with any of Hollywood's best. Bravo! I plan to watch this film over and over again.Congratulation Brian, generations will take to the skies because of your passion and outstanding skill displayed in this wonderful film.

As a pilot, and one who has also flown to Van Nuys many times, I can say that this really hits home. I would write 10,000 words to convey my admiration and love of this film, but I would still not be able to even begin to scratch the surface. There so many wonderful things about this movie! The filming in HD is the visual element, but there is a human element too. Along with those two things comes the soundtrack which is so touching. If you buy or rent this film, make sure you play "Flight" in the Special Features. If you don't have either goose bumps or tears after watching that, then you must be dead.An aviator's film of all time has arrived, and it is called - One-Six Right.
