A great version of the story about ol' "Bah Humbug" himself, Ebenezer Scrooge. I'm sure most everyone has seen a version on film or has read A Christmas Carol so won't rehash the entire story - but to those few who might not have seen or read the story: It's a good story filled with crabby Scrooge, a poor family and 3 ghosts that haunt Scrooge.Disney's version of this tale is good. It's hard not to love Mickey Mouse and his gang. This film has become a classic and a standard film for the holidays. So if you haven't seen this version of the story then give it a try... it's got a couple of giggles but mainly Disney keeps the story as heartwarming and the original tale.10/10

This is probably one of the shortest versions of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". But for such a short run time they really do the book justice.Playing Scrooge this time is none other than Scrooge McDuck. His lowly underpaid accountant Bob Cratchit is played by Mickey Mouse and a lot of other Disney characters play a lot of other roles quite fittingly. Scrooge is visited in the night by his old partner Jacob Marley(surprisingly enough played by Goofy) who tells him he'll be visited by three spirits. These visits only last about three to five minutes each but they sum up Scrooge's transformation from greedy miser to compassionate old man really well. They don't sugarcoat it either. There are no songs sung by the characters themselves and the last visit with the Ghost of Christmas Future is pretty dark. But by the end of it the same message of being a good person and doing things for the benefit of your fellow man is shown just like any other version of the story. This version isn't very long and should entertain your kids or anyone just wanting to watch something Christmas related.

I haven't seen "Mickey's Christmas Carol" in probably twenty years, but I basically remember what happens. I guess that there's nothing wrong with it, although "A Christmas Carol" doesn't seem like the type of story that Disney should adapt. I always liked the Looney Tunes far better than any of the Disney characters; I can picture Bugs Bunny turning this story into a series of New York-style one-liners. The end of the sequence with the Ghost of Christmas Future was a little intense for a children's movie. My favorite adaptation of this story was "Scrooged", with Bill Murray as a mean-spirited TV executive. In the years since I watched these sorts of cartoons, I have learned that Alan Young (Wilbur on "Mister Ed") provided Scrooge McDuck's voice. It's weird to picture the talking horse's owner affecting a Scottish accent to voice a robber baron duck. I still prefer to remember Young as Wilbur, partly because I've always use "Mister Ed" as an excuse to see Connie Hines (who played Carol); now there was a HOT BABE!!!! Anyway, it's a worthy adaptation.Yeah, I would have expected him to be taller. Even Peter Dinklage is taller.

"Mickey's Christmas Carol" is an okay Christmas tale, but not more than that: okay. I feel that this cartoon doesn't fully have that Christmas magic or spirit we are used to, not to mention that it is too dark for a Christmas tale.I think that the whole sequences with ghosts ruin this short a little: a Goofy ghost, a Willie the Giant's ghost (what's the point of that?) and a Pete's ghost in a cemetery (an extremely dark sequence which children must be aware because it may be too frightening for them).Basically this short focus on Scrooge McDuck, someone so selfish and greedy that he doesn't give any donations for the poor. Despite this, deep down inside Mr. Scrooge isn't that heartless, even if he doesn't show off that. At the end, maybe because of the traumatizing experiences he had with the 3 mentioned ghosts, he ends up feeling the Christmas spirit and gives donations for the poor ones. This cartoons also features other popular Disney starts, such as Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket and Goofy (although all of the characters have different names here). This was also the last cartoon which Donald Duck was voiced by the legendary Clarence Nash. The story of this cartoon is "so-so", there isn't actually much humor (unlike the usual on Disney classics) and the artwork isn't among the finest from Disney. In my opinion, there are other Christmas animated movies/shorts that I recommend much more than this because they are much better choices: "The Night Before Christmas" (Tom & Jerry), "Pluto's Christmas Tree", "The Polar Express" and the Silly Symphonies "Santa's Workshop" and "The Night Before Christmas", for example.
