The Plot.Featuring the full live show, with footage shot in Japan, Russia and Europe during his world tour, you are given a front row seat to one of rock's most spectacular performances.HA! Too bad it's so poorly shot. And so poorly edited. And too bad as well that the sound is horrible. Plus every song sounds the same! Most of the time it appears that Manson's off sync with the lyrics. The sound quality is next to unlistenable. The shorts re disjointed, combining different countries a o Manson is wearing different outfits during the same song.Whoever made this must be in High SChool. This is one of the worst movies of this genre I've ever seen.
... View MoreThis is definatly the best video that Marilyn Manson has released. The performances are spliced together and it can make it is a little difficult to watch but it isn't that irritating. The backstage footage is just so damed subversive and utterly wrong that you can't help but love it. The audio is very very well done and is great on 5.1 systems. you will hear little sound effects on the opening sequence which are kind of freaky and then as the music starts you almost feel as though you are at a live concert. The backstage stuff is shot with a hand held camcorder so it can be a little shaky but hey that is what you get for seeing a hermafrodite peeing into a cut on film. I highly reccommend it for kids.
... View MoreThis is probably the Mansons' best live video and their first DVD. The DVD features selectable songs and a documentary directed by Mr. Manson himself called, "The Death Parade." As far as the "songs" go, they are a little inacurately performed. This isn't a big deal except it doesn't really give you the "Guns, God, and Government" experience that we are promised. I was at a concert that had used the same set and props as most of the tour. Most of the DVD is shot at 1 show in California and it has some noticeable differences. "The Love Song" on the DVD has Manson walking around dressed as the pope (at the other concerts, it was during "Valentine's Day") instead of standing atop a giant podium like Hitler. This is probably because it was too similair to the performace of "Antichrist Superstar" (also on there). He walked on stilts during "The Nobodies" on the DVD instead of during "Tourniquet" and so on. It's not a big deal and is still a badass DVD, but most of it takes place during 1 show instead of giving us the entire "Guns, God, and Government" WORLD Tour we were promised. Overall, it's very entertaining to watch. The Death Parade is hiliarious (Happy Birthday John 5!). It's not for everybody (ex: People who hate Manson or people who with a week stomach (Manson suffers a really bad knee injury)), but for those Manson fans out there, this is a real trip.
... View MoreThis could have been a lot better than it was. The most disappointing thing about this DVD was that it contained only 2 features. which were an impressive 17 live songs taken from the last world tour, and a 30 minute behind the scenes documantary. Firstly lets look at the live performances. Personly I found it disappointing that the video footage was spliced together from multiple live shows, while using one audio track. Rather than showing complte perfomanes from different shows. Also between songs they seemed to be showing the same generic crowd footage from Reading 2001. The documentary, titled the "death parade". This featured some moments that are not really for the faint hearted, a scene involving a transexual peeing in a bucket comes to mind. This could also have shown a lot more, rather than basically playing tracks from the Holywood album that weren't good enough to play live.I may sound like i'm puting this movie down, and I suppose I am, but I was just annoyed that this movie doesn't live up to its full potential. What there is, is good but could have been done better, and more content would have pleased the hungry fans more.
