Four young ladies who are the best of friends have just graduated from college and try to find careers and success in their life. Each of them are different and they each have various obstacles to overcome in pursuit of their goals. "Yoo Min" (Eun-Hye Yun) wants to be a writer and has found a job but is frustrated that she isn't being productively employed. "Hye-Ji" (Han-Byeol Park) has rich parents, is very beautiful and becomes a famous model and actress which causes some jealousy among her friends because they believe everything has been handed to her on a silver platter. "Soo-Jin" (Ye-Ryeon Cha) is also pretty but she comes from a poor family and unlike Hye-Ji she has to struggle (and face rejection along the way) as an actress. "Min-Hee" (In-Na Yoo) has moderately wealthy parents but she struggles through their divorce which also causes a financial hardship on her. At any rate, this is a rich comedy with some drama and tragedy thrown in for good measure as well. The acting is good and in some ways shines a light on Korean culture and attitudes for those few people who are allowed to go to college without realizing how hard the real world actually is.

Little Black Dress depicts the friendships, jealousies, hopes and failures of four 24-year-old girls. The girls first met as first year students in college. They seem to be enjoying their 20's, but inside they all have worries. The movie stars Yoon Eun-Hye,her second film, Park Han Byul,Cha Ye Ryun,Yoo In Na together with Lee Yong Woo.The film was based on the novel of the same title by Kim Min Seo,who that was participant in the world literature competition. The screenplay was written and directed by Heo In-Moo.There are the four major characters of the the movie:Yoo-Min,Hye-ji,Soo- jin and Min-hee. First,Yoo-Min still doesn't know what she wants to do. Somehow she gets a job as an assistant to a top writer. Yoo-Min wasn't even sure if she would take the job as an assistant, but after seeing an expensive black mini dress at luxury department store she buys the dress with the writer's credit card and in the process accepts the job. Yoo-Min's job turns out to be more of a babysitter for the writer's twin sons. By chance, Yoo-Min runs into high-school acquaintance Young-Mi who also works as a writer's assistant. While Hye-Ji is busy playing around and living the life of a socialite. One day, she is scouted by a talent agency. She then becomes the face for a high profile ad campaign and shoots to stardom. Her other 3 friends become jealous of her.As Soo-Jin holds the most jealousy over Hye-Ji's sudden fame, because she has tried unsuccessfully to become an actress. Soo-Jin has failed many different auditions. Compounding her problems, her father's business has gone bankrupt.Finally,Min-Hee has rich parents, but her parents got divorced. Min-Hee now wants to study abroad, but her poor English skills holds her back. The film was of great substance especially for women finally facing the challenges real world after college. It presents how women faces would absorb the realities of life whether the good and the bad.Aside from that, they also face the difficult task of accepting the difficulties and obstacles of achieving their goals in life.Apart from their dreams, they also face complexities of different parts of their life like having a boyfriend, broken families, ruined friendships, loss of friends and overcoming frustrations that have hounded them as they live through their life.It was a good movie considering that it serves as an eye- opener for young people who are about to embark the journey of life after college. The lead cast was good in portraying 20-something characters as all of the women have achieved character development and maturity as the movie progresses. Yoon Eun-Hye was excellent in portraying a woman whose character was given the most screen time. She practically carried the film on her own although it would have been better if the writers had made the film for all four of them instead of presenting four actresses and giving one character the benefit of having one character,Yoo-Min dominate the story. As for the other actresses like Park Han Byul,Cha Ye Ryun,Yoo In Na,they had their moments in the film although not as much screen time as compared to Yoon Eun-Hye.The other thing that could probably be said is that the story was somewhat uneven as it dragged at some parts and the plot development in some parts were somewhat predictable and others unexpected. It presented so many themes when the screenwriters should have just focused primarily on the four women's friendship and how it affected their maturity or improved them as a better person as they went through life after college collectively instead of what each major character was going through different experiences, problems and different complexities as it somehow moved away from the main topic of the four women's friendship. But nevertheless,it still is a great view especially when it comes through the themes concerning friendship despite of the things mentioned in the last two paragraphs.
