The Pink Panther takes on a role like Little Bo Peep, and the story itself like like the Pink Panther meets Yosemite Sam. The panther is a sheepherder and is letting a sheep graze in a Texas land, where a ferocious cowboy chases it away. Therefore, the Pink Panther sets up some fences to mark his territory. But, the rancher would not have it and it's an all out gun war between him and the Pink Panther. It's a funny little cartoon with some slapstick comedy, gags and action. There's some good ol' fashion Western fun and some classic Pink Panther charm.Grade B+

Even if it is rather predictable, Little Beaux Pink is still one of the better 1968 Pink Panther cartoons. It's very colourful to look at, both rustic and elegant as well as crisply if simply drawn. The music doesn't disappoint at all, the scoring accompanying the action is catchy and jazzy while the theme tune for one heard umpteen times is still an un-annoying classic. Little Beaux Pink isn't just one of the best 1968 Pink Panther cartoons, it's also one of the funniest. The fence wire gag is hilarious, and the ending(one of the better and funnier endings of any Pink Panther cartoon from 1968) likewise. Pinky succeeds as ever being funny and cool, and the supporting characters especially the cattleman support him beautifully. All in all, colourful and very funny if predictable somewhat, if you are a Pink Panther fan Little Beaux Pink will not disappoint. 9/10 Bethany Cox

This was a very colorful western that involved a battle between a cowboy, a sheep and our hero, the Pink Panther. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who is going to be on the short end of things. The Little White (tan, actually) White Man, as a Texas cowboy, takes a beating here, from both the lamb and the Panther. He gets in a few licks, but not much. There is a variety of "accidents" that happen here, and all of them are pretty entertaining even if predictable. I liked the hired gunfighters scene near the end. Most of all, I enjoyed the colors in here: the rustic browns, yellows, greens, oranges and pinks all made this a visual treat.

This is a fairly funny short with some excellent sight gags and a pretty funny ending. I want to describe some of the gags, so let this serve as a spoiler warning: This cartoon has the Pink Panther as a sheepherder (literally-he has exactly ONE sheep, though it is a most hungry sheep, as is shown early on when it strips all the ground in its path completely bare of grass) who finds himself in "Cattle County Texas". Texas cattlemen view sheep about the same as millionaires view the tax man. The cattleman in this short is a redheaded version of the little guy with a very short fuse. The Pink Panther tries to set himself up in sheep herding and tries to raise a fence, but the rancher drives the posts (and the Panther) into the ground with a mallet. The little sheep (who is something of a crybaby) generally either eats or whines to the Panther over something the cattleman or one of his steers have done, though he does get angry once and uses some fence wire like a slingshot, with a steer as ammo and the cattleman as the target. It's hilariously executed. The cattleman is neither very bright nor very fortunate, He dams off a watering hole, only to do something incredibly stupid and release the water himself. He clearly isn't the brightest penny in the cash register. He finally does something NO real Texan would even consider-he sends for help from *GASP* Arizona! He tells them that the sheepherder is pink. So, naturally, he gets a bucket of pink paint dumped on his head just in time to get blasted by his help. The ending is absolutely wonderful! I won't spoil it here! This short is on the Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection and is most certainly worth getting. The entire Collection is worth getting. Recommended.
