Kid Cannabis is loosely based on the true tale of Nate Norman (Jonathan Daniel Brown) as a chubby high school dropout and pizza delivery boy who with his best stoner buddy Topher (Kenny Wormald) and gang of potheads started a marijuana smuggling operation from Canada, cock a snook to an arrogant rival and soon build a multi million dollar business which leads to debauchery and partying too hard.Like an even more nerdy version of Blow with ineptness such as the boys getting searched each time they try to get into Canada or getting lost as they try to trek through the woods to get back over the border with their illicit goods.Things get darker as the excesses take their toll, the police home in on them and the loyalties of the gang are tested. This is a low budget film which works better as a dark comedy with notable supporting performances by Ron Perlman and John C McGinley. It is just too convenient that they find an extraordinary weed grower in Canada and a special buyer in the USA.

At first I was rather skeptical about watching this one, but oh no, I am so glad that I did, I really enjoyed this movie, has a good story line and well filmed. Interesting story, based on a true story. Was slightly skeptical about watching this one after reading a couple of the previous reviews but I am glad that I did, it certainly made for an entertaining watch. I'm a regular marijuana user so naturally I enjoyed the heavy theme of marijuana - though I do think this would be a good watch for someone who's never touched it, good cinematography and story, give it a watch, glad that I did. A couple of the scenes did feel somewhat lacking and you could tell that the makers did not have a large budget to play with - though nonetheless they pulled it off well. Definitely recommend.

The acting was horrible, if you look at production dates and the gross revenue it is evident no publisher liked this movie, and no one payed to watch it, people have only watched it through Netflix. The movie is inaccurate in the fact that 300lbs Is only worth about 480000 street. I don't know how much they legitimately bought and sold in real life but the pricing was definitely inaccurate in the movie. Also a trafficker would not be paid such a huge percentage. There was also maybe 10lbs of weed in the suppliers grow room. This movie was not comedic, I had no emotion when they were being robbed, this whole production seems as if a few kids came together made a movie with their friends and asked two of the lowest budget pro actors to give them three minutes of footage. The whole experience was a major waste of time, and I'm disgusted by the fact that I wasted these few hours of my life. The soundtrack was also horrible white kids rapping.

First, Nate (fat nerdy kid) decides to get into drug trafficking. Does so with remarkable ease by finding the best grade of weed from a secret supplier in Canada by just driving into a gas station and smoking some grass with a hot girl he and his friend Christopher just met. Then, a big time hustler, who apparently would do business with my cousin's 6 year old son, hands same fat nerdy kid over half a million dollars whose only security deposit is a kid brother and a mother who really couldn't care less that her son was an overnight millionaire. The story may have been a great one, but Jonathan Daniel Brown has to be the worst example of a leading actor (especially in this kind of role) coupled with the sometimes ludicrously poor character executions possible.Had hope, but it wasn't worth it.
