Hmm just back from the movie and am still not believing what I saw. No it cannot be, Vishal can never make a movie like that. So predictable, so illogical, so flawed and yet too much hyped as a Tarantino and Guy Ritchie kind. For me it's never like that. It isn't even near to a two out of five from meStory, twin brothers story/one love story/one smuggling gangster story/one political gangster story and all cooked up to a shoot shoot shootout climaxCooked up to make a pot boiler, but its rotten, so rotten that I couldn't smell it even to have it after the end of first half I started reading the other side and it happened the same way bad men go and good men stay. The streak of OMKARA where LANGDA TYAGI was raised as an epitome of jealousy was missing, the innocence and honesty of BLUE UMBRELLA was missing. The performances were decent or may be the best of their life times for the actors, I don't give a damn but the plot, the character development, the story the concept for which I was craving all through was so flawed and I am still not liking it...should I dare to watch it again I would be more angry After, coming out my initial reaction was he screwed it all up and he was the biggest KAMINA as he cut the ass of viewers like me and made an illusion as the best movie of the year nope not you mister Vishal Bharadwaj. Kaminey directed by Vishal Bharadwaj is one of the best movies that has been brought out in the Indian Cinema.Excellent performances,brave writing,stylish narration,engrossing background score and superb cinematography makes Kaminey a must-watch not once but twice,thrice..Story: Guddu (Shahid Kapoor) and Charlie (Shahid Kapoor) are identical twins born and raised in the slums of Mumbai. They dream of leaving the squalor behind and moving into a life of prosperity and dignity. Though they look alike, the two are as different as chalk and cheese. One lisps, the other stammers. One is an honest, diligent social worker while the other hedges bets at a racecourse. The brothers want nothing to do with each other. But when Charlie gets mixed up in a deadly get-rich-quick scheme and Guddu realizes that the love of his life has unwittingly put a price on his head, their lives begin to collide. They find themselves facing rogue politicians, drug dealers and crooked cops. As they uncover a sinister plot laid out by the 'political-police-underworld' nexus, their stories finally converge to a point when they realize they only have each other Vishal Bharadwaj has done a brilliant job with Kaminey.He excels! The music by Vishal Bharadwaj is very good.The dialogs are witty.The cinematography is good too.Performances: Shahid Kapoor does an excellent job as Guddu and Charlie.It would have been a tough job for acting as both, Charlie who lisps and Guddu who stammers,but yet Shahid Kapoor manages to take both Guddu and Charlie to another level with his excellent performance.Amole Gupte as Bhope Bhau is an actor to watch out after Shahid.He is superb,mind-blowing,awesome...I am falling short of adjectives to describe his performance.Special mention of Tengzing Nima who portrays the role of Tashi is fantastic.Priyanka Chopra,although having a minimal role is fine.Her Marathi accent is good.Deb Mukherjee as Mujeeb,Shiv Subramanium as Lobo,Chandan Roy Sanyal as Mikhail are excellent in their respective roles.All in all,Kaminey is a must-watch not once but twice or thrice because it has the guts to be something different from the other Hindi movies.I am giving it a nine on ten.Thumbs Up!

The plot may or may not be the most original - but the depiction and characterisation certainly is. It is violent but not gratuitously shown...it is funny (without being broad)...it is definitely a very stylishly put together movie...nothing is slammed in your face...its for you pick the nuances and enjoy it...Above all the writing of the individual characters is the best - charlie, guddu, sweety, dhope (my favourite of the lot), mikhail (great name for a bengali gangster!) and tashi... This movie is a directors movie - the acting is good but is really one in which vishal bharadwaj shows the sureness of his touch... this is the movie of a very good director - but also a director who has tasted success and does not feel the need to ensure success by adding moments for all - in short it is the movie of a very confident director... may his tribe increase

This movie is extraordinary.Period. Nothing can be said about this movie that hasn't been said yet and the word extraordinary still fall short of this Bollywood flick that made the audience all over the world realize that the industry can boast of director who can match Tarantino. Although I have to admit, the guitar drug plot and the finale, seems to be very loosely inspired by "True Romance" (written by Tarantino before he became a big hit with "Reservoir Dogs"), the movie stands out marvelously and Shahid Kapoor's work very much eclipsed the work of Charlie Sheen. Vishal Bhardwaj is the toast of the town and soon will prove to all that it is him who will lead Bollywood to the glorious heights that had been so far elusive.
