I don't understand a lot of negative reviews. This movie is a marvelous work of imagination and creativity. -A very nice love story. -The cast of movie is nice, the actors have done a really great job in portraying the character. -The songs and bgm's are the best! -Aishwariya and Prasanth pair looks lovely.AISH looks gorgeous especially in all the songs. -It gives a great break from the usual story line of the Indian movies -The vfx is not comparable to recent films but considering the time of its making it is such a great feat.In fact it had its place in Guinness for beating Jurassic park in vfx length. The movie overall gives a pleasant feel.Don't go around looking for logics.Just watch movie and it will never disappoint you. In my opinion this movie is a MASTERPIECE,the best i have seen and will always have a place in my heart.

I remember how crazy I used to be about this movie when I was a kid. It was the most expensive Tamil movie made then and the hype and hoopla when it released were phenomenal. I even performed one of the songs, 'columbus' on stage in school when I was a kid.Speaking only of the Tamil version, this film is the only one directed by Shankar which is not related to social issues and is predominantly a love story (a rarity these days). Sure watching it then and now, it is a totally different experience. Then, the story, scenes, sets, leads, acting were an eye-opener. Now though, everything seems rather cheesy but the movie sure sustains its nostalgia, beauty (of young Aishwarya and the locations) and the special effects. No matter what, this movie always holds a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my childhood.

This is one of the most exciting movies ever in Tamil cinema, with whole group of talented actors. The high point of the movie are its songs with the exciting tunes of A.R.RAHMAN and a particular song which is shot in different wonder's of the world. The movie begins in US with a bang, the acting of actress Lakshmi makes the movie so pleasant to watch. The village sequences are shot in the backdrops of Tamilnadu which adds the beauty to the movie. The acting of former miss world Aishwarya Rai is good that you could watch her repeatedly in those scenes. The graphics effect showing Prashant as twins is a treat to watch.Whole together it is a must watch "TAMIL" movie.....

In the final scene of this movie, during a wedding, the two romantic leads play a joke on their guests by having hologramic images of themselves shoot each other in the head. The guests go crazy and then the T-Rex from Jurassic Park (via holograms and being literally stolen from Jurassic Park), the T-Rex starts throwing tables and chairs around. Once the guests realize the T-Rex is a mere hologram, they all began to laugh heartily. The holographic dead bodies of the bride and groom turn into skeletons and start dancing like Michael Jackson. Everything I have said actually happens in this movie.
