As a ferret owner since 1994, I was looking forward to seeing a film showing ferrets in a positive light. I wasn't disappointed! It was a lovely, gentle film about Jake, the boy, and Jasper, his ferret. Like some of the other reviewers, I cried both sad and happy tears and am looking forward to showing the DVD to my grandkids. The only thing I wish had been included was a summary showing both the pros AND cons about ferrets. Not all ferrets are as clever as Falcor and it worries me that non-ferret people might think they are all like that. They'll get one, thinking they can train it like a dog, and then when they find their ferret won't fetch stuff or roll over or do other tricks, they'll get fed up and hand the poor animal in to a shelter. That's the only criticism I have. Other than that I give a big High Five to Alison and everyone else involved - thank you for making such a super movie showing what absolutely wonderful and loving pets ferrets make :D
... View MoreExcellent story about the love and friendship that exists between a young boy & his ferret. A must see for all ferret folk! If you're an animal lover, watch this movie! Those who say animals can't love are so wrong. Jake & Jasper shows the loving bond between animal & human. It also shows that when you really need them, friends are all around you, in many shapes & sizes. It's wonderful to see ferrets portrayed in film. We need more great movies like this one. For fuzzy lovers everywhere, it shows how a ferret can steal your heart even when its breaking and help it mend. Family doesn't just mean human relatives. For true animal lovers, pets are family too!
... View MoreThe movie was very enjoyable as a mum I shed genuine tears for the young Jake (Connor) I felt his pain through his character and whilst understanding his father's pain I really did want to give 'dad' a severe talking to. Big sis whilst singing to Jake brought the mum out in her, a very emotional movie from the human side. The star was always gonna be Jasper (Falcor)he is now the ambassador for ferret ownership worldwide. His antics had me laughing through my Jake induced tears. Need another movie showing step by step how Jasper (Falcor) was trained. What also made this movie special was involving pet and in particular ferrets to help finance the movie. For most of the contributors like me it is the first time we have done anything like this, what a pleasure to be able to say I helped make this wonderful movie a reality. I only have one negative to report and that is lack of sub titles. I rely on subtitles to help me follow a movie etc. Lack of subtitles means my husband has to tell me what is being said. Although visually I was so impressed with Jake (Connor) that I needed less help than normal :-)
... View MoreI have owned ferrets for almost two years, and have been waiting for this film to be made, edited and completed, and today I received my video. I think that Alison has done us proud with this film which portrays Jasper as the perfect pet, which ferrets can be for the right owners. They are so loyal and trusting of their humans, and as this film shows can be taught to do tricks. They make a fantastic companion, and love to have companions of their own kind too. So at least two ferrets should be kept if possible. The story line was very moving, and the actors portrayed the characters with such feeling. I would highly recommend this film, and hope that similar ones will be made in the future :-)
