You can see by the comments on the net or even in the few reviews here that this movie is made for people who despises Christianity and or see Christians as some villains like orcs in movies.I saw it because I didn't had to pay and I thought it might be amusingly bad, but no not even, its just a bad movie. The crew behind the movie said it was a flop because of Christian's campaign against it. Nice way to blame others for your bad movie...I'm not religious but you don't need to be Christian to dislike this movie. You have to really hate something to watch a movie that is anti something. Usually in movies you look for a good story, not hateful propaganda and if you're looking for a true story or a documentary-like movie usually you'll want unbiased objective views. This movie could only be and was only liked by a few haters.
... View MoreI am truly amazed by this little film from Belgium. We are Lucky, in France, this has been finally released. Many Christian associations and lobbies were against it because of the topic. The tale of a true believer, dedicated housewife and mother of two boys who goes berserk after the suicide of her eldest son, molested by a priest. A little masterpiece that makes the audiences think a lot about the meaning of a lots of things, and particularly all the hypocrisy around child molesting in Church and involving authorities. The mother's character is terrific, outstanding. I did not know this actress. A real must see. And I persist and sign: this is not a film against believers, but only Christian extremists and, I repeat, all the hypocrisy among priests concerning child molesting. Yes, yes, yes, this was a scheme for Abel Ferrarra. So shame he did not make it.

View MoreThis movie is basically a Belgian version of the "Death Wish"-films, where good old Charlie Bronson went up against a bunch of various hoodlums and punks, but this time with a twist: The main protagonist is the radio-host Elisabeth (played wonderfully by Astrid Whettnall), a loving mother, who has recently had to go through a lot of anguish and suffering, as a direct consequence of something relating to priests (without going into further details, as not to spoil anything). After a somewhat slow first part of the film, things quickly start picking up the pace, and she goes on a murderous rampage, violently hunting down people she thinks are not worthy on living on this earth anymore - mostly priests and other clergymen she suspects being pedophiles.I had a hard time figuring out, if this movie was a comedy, a social satire of sorts, or a gripping drama, as it had all elements thrown in the mix, which was quite annoying. I really wanted to laugh at times, but then the tone got so grim and serious, it became very depressing to watch it. Overall an interesting revenge-movie, which (despite a few laugh-out-loud moments) is very dark and serious in its tone - and of course, very critical of the church covering for child-molesters.

The movie itself is very dark, but is very funny too. The church has come under a lot of scrutiny for a couple of reasons. One of them gets explored here with a lot of gusto and a sense for the darkest humor you can imagine. While it still is a drama, the movie could also pass as a comedy then. The child actor portraying the main character (besides the priest and the mother) is really good and the stabs at the church all feel justified. One can learn from ones mistakes and one should. The movie is not saying that church is completely bad, it is saying that going overboard always will end in a disaster (one way or another) ... and it does deliver us from being earnest about it ...
