Sara (Ana Risueño) is a sensible and charming young girl , whose only reason to live is her inability to die , attempting to commit suicide . She is a musician and plays at a Jazz orchestra . Jaime (Daniel Freire) , an attractive serial murderer , equally capable of both seduction and killing . He is a teacher at an elementary school . One morning just like any other in Madrid, two perfect strangers, are just two more people standing on a subway platform . A person falls onto the tracks as the train pulls up. For everyone there, it's a tragic accident. But not for the horrified young woman , as she saw Jaime pushes the victim onto the tracks. She then decides to blackmail the murderous . Despite their , the two main roles feel the utter loneliness of existence in a city of Madrid with four million inhabitants .The film contains mystery , violence , nudism , suspense in a dark atmosphere but with mediocre tension and intrigue . The hunter played by Daniel Freire and her prey performed by Ana Risueño become involved in an intense and increasingly deep relationship at a distance by means of use of all kinds of modern methods of communication such as mobile phones , internet and web cams . The atmosphere and perverse intrigue enhance as well as the intimate relationship develops . Daniel Freire who holds a strong Argentinian accent makes a passable performance and Ana Risueño is acceptable as a depressed young who leads herself a madness spiral . Both of whom play two gloomy characters with a strong feeling of loneliness, the way in which they utilize each other like meaningless objects . These elements provide the setting for this piece of film noir , giving it its own special quality and environment . In the end it is this obsession with death that brings them together in a dramatic physical meeting , which ironically gives rise to a new opportunity for life . Colorful cinematography by Tote Trenas is good , creating a frightening and scary atmosphere . Jazzy musical score composed by a Jazz man who plays one of the members who take part at the orchestra . The flick was finely produced by the chairman of Filmax Productions , Julio Fernandez , along with his brother Carlos Fernandez as executive producer , they're successful producers and experts on terror genre , producing a lot of hits such as ¨The machinist¨, ¨Rec ¨1¨, 2¨ and ¨3¨ , ¨Fragiles¨, ¨Darkness¨, ¨El perfume¨ , ¨Transsiberian¨ and many others . The motion picture was middling realized by Miguel Alcantud and resulted in a box office failure , because turned to be slow moving and little bit tiring , it's his first film . Miguel subsequently directed ¨Anastezsi¨ that also was a flop , in spite of its good cast as Derek Jacobi and Angela Molina , being the filmmaker's last work . After that , he only realized TV episodes such as ¨Aguila Roja¨ and ¨Internado¨. Rating : Regular and boring .

This film is so bad! It's a pseudo-thriller about a guy that kills his victims by impulse, doing it without any reason or sense! I think the entire plot is pretty absurd, making no sense this pseudo cat-mouse game played by the two main (and almost only!) characters of this movie. The main idea is not bad, and if it was done in a nice way it could turn in a nice plot/movie, but in this film it was too pushed to the melodrama! At parts it's so slow and melancholic that it turns too melodramatic and boring! And who the hell thinks that Jazz music is good to create suspense?! My God, sometimes the soundtrack is so disconnected from scenes! To resume it's a pseudo-intellectual thriller that totally fails. It has no suspense, no tension, no mystery, no good acting, no sense… no quality! It was a disappointment, as I was expecting something much better!

* It may contain spoilers but I don't think so."Impulsos" is a strange film! One day on a subway station a man purposefully pushes someone in front of a moving train. Everyone supposes this to be an accident, but a girl saw the victim being pushed to his death. She contacts the killer and starts to blackmail him. This is the beginning of a very strange relationship. She doesn't know why she's doing it and what she really wants from him. He is a serial killer that kills for his own pleasure and doesn't feel any regrets or guilt about what he's doing. She is looking for love and... death. A dangerous and bizarre relationship! The film tells a straightforward story but doesn't pass any moral judgement. We are left drifting on our own with no road signs to tell us what to feel. There's no one to root for. People are not used to it! The serial killer doesn't feel guilt and even the girl, in spite of her speech, doesn't really care for his killings - she's got other things to worry about. And even the end of the film is left open. Many films lead us through a comfortable road of good feelings. This one gives us an interesting story, a good cinematography and good acting. So switch off the moral textbook installed in your mind and you might enjoy the film. I don't know myself if I liked the film or not, but it certainly disturbed me. Not a film for everyone.

We all know that kind of weird movie where the creators try to make an artistic flick, mixing some sort of music with explicit images or great photography or a misunderstanding topic or plot or any strange thing. Sometimes, they do it right, and the result is a great blast of feelings in a sea of moving colors and sound. Sometimes nobody gets it and it becomes another pseudo-artistic pretentious thing, filed in some art school's shelf. In this case, "Impulsos", is between those two ways. It has a plot, a simple one. It has real life-like characters. It has this great jazz music that matches the images and the plot. It has a great photography, and art coordination. It certainly makes you FEEL every feeling transmitted by the actors. But it seems for me that nobody knew what to do with all this. They just got an idea of what to do with this elements, but they fight against time to make it last 90 minutes.Good actors, good direction. Great music, great photography: now get a complete story! Introduction, problem, climax and resolution... right?
