10-year-old Bart Millard lives with his mother and abusive father Arthur in Texas. One day his mother drops him off at a Christian camp where he meets Shannon. Upon his return from camp, Bart finds his mother has left and movers are removing her belongings. He angrily confronts his father, who denies that his abusiveness was the reason she left. Years later, in high school, Bart and Shannon are dating. Bart plays football to please his father but is injured, breaking both ankles and ending his career. The only elective with openings is music class, so he reluctantly signs up.

This was such a big disappointment when i watched the trailer i thought it could be interesting but the result was a christian tv channel film very bad script full of cliches and almost every scene you see a bible around the corner on a table on a bed etc.

I was deeply moved by this film. At the end when he began to sing the song I was moved to tears imagining what my mother experienced when she went home to be with the Lord. In fact, it brings tears now thinking of it. Grateful this film has brought to light the fact that it is never too late to turn our lives around. His hand is reaching out for us........

This was a very good put together Christian movie. Anyone who gives this movie less than 7 stars is only doing so to try to disrespect the movie. The cast and story was outstanding! Great job!

After watching "I can only imagine" it has you deep in your faith and emotions. You find a way to be personal with the movie. The song when I first heard it years ago gave me goose bumps that I still get to this day. All it takes is the first 3 notes and you get tears in your eyes. The casting for this movie was perfect, the locations were beautiful, the story behind the song is unbelievable. This song and movie has felt close to me, it has pulled me out of my darkest days and saddest moments. If I could give this any higher stars I would.
