Hit The Road India is an adventure ridden thrill ride that takes us on a journey from Mumbai to Chennai inside Asia's most popular vehicle an auto rickshaw. Brilliantly filmed and well edited, this adventure documentary had me on the edge of my seat and had me thinking I was right a long side them. Loved every minute of it. The element I was most looking forward to was seeing the landscape of India and vision of the people that inhabit the countryside. The film delivers all of this and more.I ordered the downloadable version and loved it so much I had to own the hard copy which was sent out complete with a hand written 'thanks' from the directors Gor and Mushegh. Looking forward to the next instalment, where to next boys??

I watched the documentary, thank you for sharing. It was full of fun, laughter and humour. I was laughing my head off at the blank look on the locals' faces when they realised there was a camera attached to the tuk-tuk (if only the cast had retained theirs as a collector's item...). Thumbs up to the soundtrack (excellent selection), and the plot was quite diverse which made it interesting to watch. Both Richard and Keith did a fabulous job, and I hope they organise a similar excursion soon. Well done and keep up the good work!

watched HIT THE ROAD: India ...never heard of it UNTIL one day I got a message from Mr. Gor asking me(I mean me!) if I'd like do a review of his film..& as a self proclaimed "movie critic" I accepted the offer gladly SO we have two North Americans(just regular tourist) in an auto rickshaw/tuk-tuk & a distance of 2000 km to be covered in 12 days in a country like India, where its monsoon time(you have the plot) & they have all the odds(you can bear an auto ride & its sound for 50-60 km BUT not for the 2000 km & this crap is not even designed for it)....Film's cinematography is visually stunning at times..screenplay kinda becomes repetitive(BUT given the plot its a fine job)..with some of the coolest background scores/tracks..AND it shows you the plight, struggle, flickering attitude(see it changing with the time), & of course the "adventure" of these guys as they bears the traffic, potholes, heavy rain, in a bunk ride of India (& this considered as one of the top-10 adventures!) NOW its a travel documentary about a particular adventure/event that take place in India(makers have mentioned it..so if you expect any other thing, its your fault) & it shows the humane nature of a one particular team(the only cast)during that event n their hazards during the trip...its good that movie stay focused on the topic(it claims) till the end..(its not "perfect" tho)Given the genre n chosen subject this film is nice & WORTH A WATCH....For someone who is planning to have this "adventure" ...its a _MUST WATCH_

My wife and I were very excited to see this film having seen the trailer, which was excellent. We have just returned from India in a trip from Chennai to Mumbai so we were really looking forward to seeing some familiar places.Unfortunately we were let down. The film has some interesting moments and characters, but the storytelling and editing is poor. The choice of American/Canadian main characters was a bit bizarre - we would have preferred Indian. The filmmakers got some good shots but unfortunately a lot of them were spoiled by the excessive use of shallow depth of field resulting in many shots out of focus. This is an unfortunate mistake in a documentary film, where they can easily avoid this by using apertures that allow a wider depth of field, which is useful when they need to get shots quickly without having time to prepare in advance for them. However when focus was good there was some nice stuff. The music choice was generally strange throughout the film, with a moody, electronic and indy flavour that was quite dark in general. Yes that sound interesting and hipster-ish, but then you need to go the whole hog and pull it off like David Lynch. It feels like it was simply the wrong choice in this case.I really can't understand why this film currently has a rating of 9.2 from 32 reviewers - this is FAR too high. We bought the film online on the strength of the trailer but feel that perhaps a lower price would be more appropriate.
