Half-Cocked Trailers

A group of high school teens steal a van full of music equipment and pretend to be a band, called "Truckstop" in order to stay on the road. When the band starts playing gigs, their sound is largely inconsistent and incoherent, however, over time, the band becomes increasingly competent in their musicianship.

as far as being friends (in the past) with every person in this movie... It was a good movie but with a select few that acted in the movie it became a life changing joke. The movie is well edited, and well put together, but they should have done more research/ interaction/ spending time with some of the participants. Especially the one who was born on Christmas day and has the initials j.c. because this Movie/ Film drove him to rock and screw his friends lives up forever. It All went down hill after this...... That will be the real cool movie to see. Because I have most of the footage of the downfall of Cook. A genius that was driven to insanity by the patronization of those who used the crud out of him and promised him a piece of it all............ He is a "Nut" now because his so called friends promised him the world...F! you guys

I loved this film. Of course, I also love all of the bands involved and the music scene that Half Cocked parodies so well. I'm not sure how the film will translate for those who haven't found themselves caught up in a music scene that is filled with people who are so busy looking for the most progressive band, trying to be the hippest indie-rocker around, that their judgement is clouded. During one scene, we see the band (none of whose members know how to play their instruments) playing at a club, making mindless noise while onlookers bob their heads. After the performance, a member of the headlining act enthusiastically says that he doesn't see how his band could possibly follow such a brilliant performance.Technically the film is a little rough, but it was shot on an extremely low budget. The decision to shoot on grainy black and white film stock was a good one, as it gives the film an intimate, documentary/tour diary sort of feel. And, the performances by both the bands and the actors are great. No self-respecting fan of independent rock should miss this one.

This film portrays the life of a runaway girl; who steals her brothers van and all the instruments inside. The companions resort to calling themselves "Truckstop" and deciding to form a band. Members of Louisville Indie bands such as Rodan, Crain, Ruby Falls, The Metroschifter, The Rachels, Shipping News, and June of 44 make appearances. Anyone familiar with the city of Louisville will be amazed at the beautiful footage, and those familiar with the local music will get a suprise in seeing the locals are pretty good actors.
