Freakshow Trailers

In a modern retelling of Tod Browning's "Freaks" (1932), "Freakshow" tells the story of a group of criminals who chose to hide out by working security at a traveling circus. At first, they plot with an insider to steal the ticket sales, but the wily Lucy has bigger plans. She convinces the gang to let her seduce and marry the aging circus owner, Lon, in order to secure the entire circus fortune after he "suffers an accident". "People die all the time," Lucy says. The freaks are on to their scheme, however, and when the youngest of them is caught by the ruthless gang, they show no mercy to ensure her silence. When the circus folk find the child's remains, they swear vengeance, and no one is safe from their fury--least of all, the wily Lucy.

I hate to admit I watched this movie...I was watching it for a friend. It is all about what you are into.A group of "outsiders" are hired by a circus, which is run by all deformed individuals and are called family. Lon (Christopher Adamson) is in charge, a man who has open sores oozing with pus. The outsiders come up with a plan to rob the circus by stealing the gate receipts. When it is discovered Lon has a ton of money including "castles" they opt for plan "B" where Lucy (Rebekah Kochan) the gang's girl comes onto Lon to the point he wants to marry her.The rest of the family is skeptic of Lucy, as well they should be.Without giving away any plot spoilers, I will dare to say there are bloody and graphic scenes. Outside of the midget, the deformities appear to be special effects. For example, the guy with no arms, clearly had arms under his shirt.I think if they had a metal soundtrack, this could have been an excellent grindhouse. As it was, it was just pretty disgusting. If you can make it through 6 "Saw" films and a couple of "Human Centipedes" this one should be a snap.F-bomb, sex, and nudity (Rebekah Kochan, Amanda Ward)

Okay... This movie was a terrible, unnecessary rip off of the classic Freaks. Freaks had a heart, you felt for the characters. They were actually decent actors. Freakshow was just disappointing and sad... It took me years to get ahold of Freaks on VHS back in the day. The sound was cruddy due to the era it came from, but I enjoyed it. It was unique. Freakshow reeks of less than subtle thievery. It was full of sex and violence that didn't improve upon the storyline. I'm not a prude, sex and violence are peachy keen, it just seems useless when touching upon an already used storyline and adds absolutely nothing to the plot. Also, tossing in the threatening and brutally graphic scalping of a child... And then displaying her mangled remains... What was the point of that? Disgusting. Gore and nudity can't save a movie with so little going for it. I don't understand the appeal.

I bought this movie without any high standards set for it. I originally bought it to see the ending that had so much hype surrounding it. To briefly put it, I got what I expected. The story was... well.. nonexistent. The story was, I believe, about an outsider who worked for the circus as the ticket sales-lady. The owner had fallen in love with her, and she wished to marry him. Assumably, she only agreed to marry him for his wealth, which is what caused the rest of the movie to fall into the pieces it did. After a good, hour, hour and 10 minutes, of absolutely nothing happening besides low- grade sex scenes, and persistent cussing, the "banned in 43 countries" violence began, which I can honestly say didn't satisfy my blood lust, but it did leave me saying "Eh, good way to end it."The sex scenes were very frequent, but they were very boring and plain. Honestly, the R. Kelly video where he pees on the young girl, is a lot more interesting than the sex scenes in this film. I could have made better sex scenes with just myself. The violence began decently cartoonish, and evolved into an Eli Roth styled partition. As for film qualities, the acting was fair. Wasn't too impressive, but I have definitely seen worse (*cough* Trolls 2 *cough*). The film production was honestly, very well done. The filming styles and camera angles were nothing new or too fancy, but they definitely set the mood of the film. The soundtrack was very suitable, kind of an old-school styled sound which fit the film grain and the feel of the film.Honestly, I would only recommend this film to 12-year-old boys who are desperate for nude scenes. If you are a fan of horror, or B-Horror, or Independent films, please, stay away. It will not please any of your senses, because anything "positive" from this film has already been done.I gave it a 2/10, and that's me being generous, and for the ending.

If you are a B movie fan, this is worth a watch...maybe. I would not recommend running out and buying this. 90% bad acting, but I did like the music throughout it :P. Neat idea, but not put together well. If you're bored, and there is nothing else to watch, you might make it through it. Like everyone says, last 10 minutes are little gory, not really anything else 'bloody' in the movie (unless you count those nasty boils on his back :P)I too have seen the original Freaks, and I would not even compare them because...well...you just can't...the original was a cult classic, this one is no where near that. Glad I sat through it, just to say I have watched it :P
