'Fist Fight' is good for the occasional laugh. Some of the Senior-class pranks are funny, in an Animal House, pie-in-the-face way. Charlie Day does a great job at portraying The Wimp. Ice Cube is the psycho Angry Black Man, in fact, everyone in this movie is a caricature of some sort.Loads of bad language. Strickland (Ice) stands for rules and order yet swears like a sailor at his students and engages in over-the-top intimidation tactics.I wouldn't even have bothered to review this film but for the Talent Show scene: Andy's (Day) pre-teen daughter Ally gives a foul-mouthed performance of something called Big Sean's "I Don't F**k With You". I'm not easily shocked, but this was filthy and stomach-turning; it is the Death of Innocence portrayed as a positive, self-affirming act.Had they left this scene out I might have given the movie 5 stars - it's that bad; kind of like watching your daughter dress as a painted-up slut for Halloween.

Fist Fight is a mediocre movie with a reasonably well developed plot and a good comedic cast. It is simple fun while it lasts, what really made the film worthwhile for me, overall, was Charlie Day. He has a terrific comedic presence and naturalness to himself that makes him a pleasure to watch. Day is also joined by some great improv comedic talent that includes Tracy Morgan, Jillian Bell and Kumail Nanjiani, who all shine in their scenes. However, it is a very by the numbers comedy that never does anything original or off the cuff. The movie plays things very safe and seems almost afraid to do something really out of the ordinary that would make us laugh more than just a little chuckle, it felt like a movie that was once a very original script, turned in to something formulaic and bland thanks to studio involvement. Ice Cube delivered quite a boring performance in this film, doing absolutely nothing we have never seen him do before, and failing to make some comedic changes, like he did in the Jump Street movies. Instead, he goes for a bland delivery of his dialogue that makes for an unsatisfactory viewing, as the film builds up to him punching Day in the face, a lackluster set up. Has it moments, but quite forgettable. If you are a big fan of any of this movie's comedic talents, then you might want to give it a watch, but Fish Fight is an unexceptional, mundane comedy that never surprised me. A school teacher is challenged to fight another teacher after unintentionally getting him fired. Best Performance: Charlie Day / Worst Performance: Ice Cube

I can't believe I watched the whole movie. Frankly this movie sucks. The story in itself is very poorly written, no plot just random pranks, filled with the unwanted use of abusive language. Acting was also not good. Better to skip this one in my opinion.

Review: I wasn't that impressed with this movie, because I found the jokes unfunny and the concept was a bit ridiculous. Ice Cube plays an extremely angry teacher called Ron Strickland, who doesn't let the kids at his high school, get away with anything. Most of the other teachers are petrified of him, so they stay out of his way, while the pupils are causing havoc around the school. With the headmaster making cuts, Andy Campbell (Charlie Day) is scared of losing his job, and with his wife being heavily pregnant, and his little daughter due to perform at school, he struggles to teach English to the disrupted kids, who can't help misbehaving. When one of the kids in Ron's class keeps on turning off the video with his phone, Ron loses his cool in front of Andy, and he takes an axe to his desk, scaring the life out of the pupils. Andy & Ron are then asked to explain what happened in the classroom, and Andy is forced to tell the headmaster what Ron had done, because his job is on the line. Ron is immediately sacked, and he tells Andy that he wants to fight him after school, because he "snitched" on him, so he tries his utmost to try and get out of the fight. With everyone telling him how dangerous and vicious Ron is, Andy if faced with the challenge of his life, and now that the fight has gone on social media, there is no way of backing out of the fight. Its quite a far fetched movie, which has a couple of funny moments but that was about it. The fight scene wasn't bad but the whole build up became annoying after a while. Charlie Day's constant grovelling became tedious, and Ice Cube's usual gangsta' attitude seemed totally unnecessary. If you don't take the movie that seriously, which you can't, then it's watchable but I can't seem people watching it twice. Average!Round-Up: Although this movie made a profit at the box office, I really can't see were the $25 million budget went, because it's all filmed in a school with B list actors. It's the first movie from Richie Keen, 34, who has directed mostly for TV. It was good to see Tracey Morgan back on the big screen, after his fatal car accident, and Jillian Bell added her usual dry humour, which pushed the boundaries. I wasn't that disappointed, mainly because my expectations wasn't that high but I personally think that the director could have done a lot more with this concept.Budget: $25million Worldwide Gross: $41.1millionI recommend this movie to people who are into their comedies, starring Ice Cube, Charlie Day, Tracy Morgan, Jillian Bell, Dean Norris, Christina Hendricks and Dennis Haysbert. 4/10
