This is the type of movie that give you good feeling after you watch and while you watching it. The film idea is unique, I mean combining a guys love for a girl and sports in a single script is something which cant be thought of but director of the movie did and with toppings of excellent performances and funny one liners, they have made an excellent movie to watch. Performances of actors is amazing especially Fallon's. Drew Barrymore was looking cute as always and with her Innocent looks, she was a perfect fit for the role. Above all, movie also gives you an important message..you need to have some passion in Ur life other than Ur work and you should also not be overly crazy about it.

The Farrelly brothers create their most main stream rom-com. This stars a lovely Drew Barrymore as a hard working Lindsey Meeks. Jimmy Fallon is a sweet charming high school teacher Ben Wrightman. They hit it off, but when spring comes, something starts to go wrong. He is an obsessive Boston Red Sox fan. His obsession takes over his life, and even starts to push out Lindsey.It's a great rom-com. And it's not the outrageous gross out humor that the Farrelly brothers are known for. That to me is the revelation. It is time that they consider branching out from their comfort zone. Not every movie has to have that crazy idea. The Fallon Barrymore pairing has good chemistry. That's what's important for a traditional rom-com.

Wow just wow, I love good rom coms and I'm totally attracted to the lovely Drew Barrymore but I've never been into my baseball at all till tonight and my first viewing ever of a baseball flick aka The Perfect Catch ("Fever Pitch" in the US). I had low expectations knowing who was directing it (I hate The Farelly super gross and vulgar humor that is NOT making me laugh the slighest), the matter (baseball) AND one Jimmy Fallon (who was awful in Whip It from same Mrs Barrymore in 2009).But if there's something I love is to get proved WRONG and winning me over the (good)cause of baseball, Jimmy Fallon acting chops and The Farelly ability to direct and entertain me for just one flick...I've seen bazillions of rom coms in my life and this one is a true gem : it made me smile a lot of time and even managed to make me legit laugh a few good times (especially Drew herself).I was fully entertained from start to finish and enjoyed the amazing chemistry between Drew and Jimmy. To make a legit good rom com you need a number of factors and the most important one is the credibility of the two main actors and thinking they would make a great real life couple.That's the case here, Jimmy is funny AND touching while Drew is as adorable and super attractive as ever...I would have surely loved to be in Jimmy's spot in this movie :DThe casting is solid and even if it's the Barrymore-Fallon show, the other actors are perfect in their roles from the biggest to the most obscure ones like the kids here.Like I've stated earlier, i've never been attracted to baseball the slightest (while being into sports like soccer/football and basket).Even more funny, I tend to enjoy New York and its sport teams so having me not only enjoying baseball BUT also ROOTING for The Red Sox is quite a tour de force and mad props for The Farelly for this.Another hero and standout from this movie out of the two main protagnists is the Boston City,Fenway Park and its perennial residents and of course crazy great supporters.I don't know how many real life Red Sox fans were featured in the movie (I've just finished it and yet to witness the many bonuses from the DVD) but man, each scene with them singing and dancing was an absolute highlight and put a HUGE Smile on my face :)It's simple, I was singing along with them (while discovering the said tunes) and screaming the glory of the old good Red Sox and empathizing for and their infamous "bambino curse" .I don't know (yet) if the Farelly are legit fans of Boston and its baseball team but they shot them in the most beautiful way possible.Not only is this movie a great tribute to a legendary sport team, its stadium and fans but it's also a very enjoyable trip to Boston, MA itself and it gave me the need to go to the US and visit this beautiful City from Northeast America.To conclude, if you're like me, and enjoy either Drew Barrymore, Jimmy Fallon, baseball, friendship that turn into love stories, good laughs and a great soundtrack and super catchy anthems, give Fever Pitch US/The Perfect Catch a try.The Farelly totally hit an absolute HOME RUN with this delicious rom-com and will leave you with a big smile on the face and wanting to go to Fenway Park to root for The Red Sox !TWO HUGE THUMBS UP and a vastly overlooked-underrated FEEL GOOD MOVIE For the ages !

Fever Pitch is not to be mistaken with a baseball comedy. Its a heartfelt romantic genre about a woman literally competing for a man's love when the hot topic on his mind during spring, summer, and some of fall is baseball. In the film, Jimmy Fallon is a Boston Red Sox fan. We all know how they can get. It's not prettier than Cubs fans.The plot: Ben Wrightman (Fallon) is a school teacher who is a die hard Boston Red Sox fan thanks to his Uncle Carl who took him to his first Red Sox game at age seven. Ben meets Lindsey Meeks (Barrymore) who is a workaholic executive. The two have chemistry just by the way they look at each other.Ben and Lindsey wind up dating for a little while, but just as Lindsey tells Ben he should meet her parents, BOOM, he hits her with the news; his Uncle Carl left season tickets in his will to Ben and he needs to go down to Miami for spring training.Lindsey doesn't know why Ben would rather go to some "stupid" game then go meet her parents. After all, they might be getting married. But that's the beauty of it all; sometimes women don't understand a man's obsession with something like sports.Ben is a die hard Sox fan, and feels obligated to be at the games. Lindsey forces herself to go to one of the games and can't sit still because of the fact (a) she knows nothing about baseball and (b) doesn't care about the outcome.My dad loves baseball, football, and hockey. My mom likes football sometimes. I like football and some minor league baseball. My mom, dad, and I rarely ever go to games together, all three of us. It's usually my dad, me, and his other friend. My dad is not obsessed with baseball like our character Ben. Our house has some old pictures but doesn't look like a sports memorabilia store like Ben's apartment.Fever Pitch was directed by The Farrelly Brothers who of course directed Dumb and Dumber, Me, Myself, and Irene, and There's Something About Mary. I didn't find a whole lot of enjoyment in Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary was only average to me.
