"Faces of Death 2" is a 2000 shockumentary video made by Todd Tjersland, who also made the first one.Just like in the first film, it's just a new but more disturbing collection of nasty clips of ugly-looking corpses/crushed bodies caused by traffic accidents (where most of the people's heads are totally crushed), suicides and so on. Here Dr. Vincent van Gore gets more hysteric on his voice, and Mr. Tjersland still ridicule the events on every single videos shown here. And they're still lying about the events taking place in Japan, when they are clearly from other Asian countries like Thailand. In one scene we even get so see one recipe for a dish which involve human flesh. However, I just overlooked it and focused on the scene itself. And just thinking about some of the crushed heads in the traffic accident videos makes me gross...Absolute NO joking here.To make it worse, sound effects are clearly heard often; Blood dripping whenever blood is shown, a Howie Scream is clearly heard in one sequence, and some laughing-children-sound almost made me think "Diddy Kong Racing". SHAME ON YOU, "MOVIE TEAM"!!!I'm very sorry if I overreacted here about the sound effects, but this was how I felt when watching this film. But like I said in my review for the film's predecessor, there is nothing to see in this so-called 'movie'. But if you like 100% real gore and really want to see this, please DON'T watch it for the sake of entertainment, as there are nothing entertaining with this video. Otherwise, just skip this film and watch something better, like the classic "Faces of Death"-movies to make an example. Trust me, I will promise you that...That's all folks...
... View MoreThe faces of gore team are back with more carnage from road accidents, suicides and murders. In this edition we have pretty much more of the same but this time the commentary from our friend Todd Tjersland is about twice as sick. The guy practically orgasms over every section and at time the comments go too far. Almost always he comments on the corpses on show in a sexual manner. Like for example he will mention how the coroner will be having his way with the corpse when it gets to the morgue. I think this guy has some serious issues. Another thing that makes this hard to watch is the terrible added on sounds. Its obvious that the clips are silent yet there are squishy sounds added on and terrible dripping sounds every time we see a drop of blood dripping. There are cheers and even a crying baby sound when we see a dead foetus. Another thing I hated about the comments is that the facts given are almost certainly lies. Hearing about a crazed killer called machete Joe how can anyone believe the tripe they are coming out with? We are also at one point given a recipe for some dish or other while a corpse is shown on screen. The recipe of course includes human flesh. Now we come to the great doctor Vincent van Gore. He is still reading all his terrible links from cards just off camera only this time his is overacting in ways I have never seen in my life. Each of his segments just made me cringe its as hard to watch this guy over act as it is to watch the gore scenes. If you're a fan of read death films then this will appeal as it is full of grizzly bodies and smashed faces. I can see a point to the faces of death films. I get the feeling the only reason they are made is to raise a bit of money to make other films like for example the necro files as that was made by the same people as this. But on its own the faces of gore films are just boring really.3/10
... View MoreThis 'shockumentary' is really truly bad. Not bad in the way I expected, but a horribly made feature. The gore footage was tame, and I had trouble sitting through the whole thing due to the god-awful hammy unnecessary narration and Tom and Jerry style sound effects. If I wanted a cartoon burp while watching a corpse being pulled out of the water, while listening to some guy in his echoey bedroom narrate in a cartoon mad scientist voice, I wouldn't even be watching this kind of thing in the first place. After about 10 minutes, I muted the damn sound and watched the mediocre footage, the narration and dubbed on cartoon sounds were just too damn annoying. After all the hype about how shocking this sub-genre of shockumentary is supposed to be, I was highly disappointed, websites like Rotten Dot Com provide more shocking scenes and cut back on the bollocks and give you the interesting stuff, minus the bastardised dubbed soundtrack. Avoid this at all costs.
... View MoreNothing special here, after a few viewings it loses it attraction. Only get if you have some weak-stomached friends you'd like to horrify. The narrator is amusing, and some of the footage is worth a rewind or two, but it only appeals to die hard Real Death fans.
