Europe & Italy Trailers

Animated short film that contrasts the singular way of being Italian to the orderly and civilized system from the rest of Europe

Like some of Bruno Bozzetto's recent films, the animation in this short is certainly not great. He's gone to a style involving geometric shapes instead of people and cars and whatever. Now you'd think this would make for a terrible film, but because he is so incredibly clever, it's still an amazingly funny short. The subject of "Europe & Italy" is the difference between how the Italians do things versus how the rest of Europe does things. It's all great social satire and quite funny. I'm just surprised that Bozzetto was so hard on his fellow Italians and their notoriously disorganized ways of doing things. If you liked this one, try watching "Yes & No"--a film with a similar style about safe versus unsafe driving. Funny and very cynical!
