Ek Tha Tiger is an Indian action spy film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the two main roles. It's marketed on the posters and images of the movie as if it's some kind of full throttle action movie but in truth although containing some fighting and shootouts, it's mostly a weird kind of Rom-Com movie. Of course Bollywood rarely lacks romance and this is the same, it does try to thrill and the ending does add a little boost to the story but it's the beginning that truly drags this down and stops it from being near okay. The choreography is nicely done when it is shown and the dancing and singing is lacking in true style but is still pretty nicely taken care of. The main problem is with the story itself and the over dramatic or just plain stupid scenes that really make this not worthwhile. Listen Salman Khan isn't half bad in this but he never truly gets into the role, the action scenes he more than takes care of and he excels mostly at the end, I just don't think he is overly great here in serious dialogue. Katrina Kaif is well cast as Zoya, a lady who reveals her back story the more the story goes on but really she is no different here to a lot of similar leading ladies roles seen elsewhere in Bollywood and fails to make an impact. The cast is kind of well used but never truly that great, it is better when the film focuses more on Salman Khan's character Tiger as the rest of the cast feel a little pointless and the goons placed around the movie are pretty dispensable.Kabir Khan the director and co-writer had never really made an action movie before doing this so it can't be expected for him to get it spot on; he does however keep it at least fast paced although it can be a little implausible at times. The story is a little stupid in truth and the beginning is not handled well in the script but also in the direction and even in the background music, it can feel as if this is two films split into two and then wrongly put together. The choreography of the dancing as mentioned can be nice but can also be too random, I have always felt that in Bollywood movies the singing and dancing has to be positioned just right for it to work within the plot, this I feel does not time it all right. So really overall a pretty lame movie but one that can the slightest bit enjoyed if you ignore the silly parts of it. It also has some really nice locations and it isn't filmed that badly, hey even the effects used aren't used overly that much and you don't notice them too much so it's not annoying in that way. Salman Khan can probably take some positives from this as maybe can Kaif but truly this could have been done better, but to be fair I just think the whole story just never worked.

This is one of my best seen action films in bollywood till date. From beginning to ending it's gone through as an actionable thriller along with love story very smartly. Beneath the whole movie, salman's performance as a spy could be acceptable. Apart from this point, actions sequences from him really come out stunningly and surprisingly. And his love interest, katrina kaif who's also a spy has given her best in both lovable scenes and action scenes which will undoubtedly make you to be excited. According to me this movie is a great recipe which has tasty ingredients such as action, thriller and love altogether perfectly. All action lovers should not miss this film for any reason which is not only for sallu bhai and kaif but also for this amazing scripted film.Plus points : Action sequences.Performance of lead roles.Amazing climax.Lovable songs and so on.Minus points : Movie could have been even lengthier. Don't miss this wonderful entertainment!!!!!!!!!!

The most anticipated movie of 2012 "Ek Tha Tiger" is released with a bang. Before the release all the tickets were sold, it was hard to get tickets even for the 5th day of the release. The reason behind it was nothing but Salman Khan's box office power, which has yet again proved to be the ace in marketing any movie, and yes I mean "Any Movie". YashRaj needs no introduction for those who are avid film viewers. Director Kabir Khan (Kaabul Express and New York) managed to justify his inspirations quite well. Here we all must know "inspiration" is just a modified name of "copying". The storyline of the movie is nothing that audiences haven't witnessed before. It is about a RAW agent with a code name of "Tiger", played by Salman Khan and an ISI agent named Zoya, played by "Katrina Kaif". Tiger is sent on a mission to Dublin, just to observe the movements of Indian scientist (Roshan Saith) because according to Tiger's chief Roshan might be involved in sharing some research finding with Pakistan's defense. There Tiger meets Zoya and their romance starts to blossom. After that it's a movie with lots of chase, lots of action and so many predictabilities.ETT is a bravura combination of multiple movies, script wise along with action sequences hugely inspired from west. For instance the script of the movie is a combination of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, One of the movies from James Bond's series and a few more (in bits and pieces). The most talked about action sequences of ETT are, also to huge extent, copied from 2 blockbusters "Fast 5" (starting scene and when Kat and Sallu escape from their hideout); the climax is again inspired from Expendable's climax when local Sly jumps from bridge on to the jet plane. As far as the performances are concerned, Salman is as usual – he is already a "STAR" and for stars performances are not benchmarks (on the basis of past release like Dabbang, Ready and Wanted). Salman Kan looks cute, sober and serious with this movie as well. Katrina is a complete performer now! She surprises everyone with her performance, dialogue delivery and hotness. Ranvir Shorey grabs the role exceptionally well, there are scenes where he doesn't even speak but his presence is strongly felt – after a long time this actor is truly been utilized. Direction is good, better than other recent Bollywood movies (excluding GoW 1 and 2, Rockstar, Pan Sigh Tomar, Vicky Donor, Shanghai, Jannat 2, and a few others).Music of ETT is nice – nothing exceptional. Cinematography is worth experiencing – hats off to Aseem Mishra. Watch this film if you are a Salman Khan's or Katrina's fan; else there won't be much for you in this fare.

Where do I begin with 'Ek Tha Tiger' I guess I should say with blockbuster type films, acting is really not required as the special effects, action sequences, loud music and flashy wardrobe and props become the stars of the show and therefore are at the forefront and what the audiences are treated to. Sure there are those who would come for the superstar cast but action movie-buffs are usually viewing for the former rather than the latter. That said, 'Ek Tha Tiger' or ETT as it is known to fans around the world is not entirely bad acting wrapped in explosive special effects and action sequences, it does have its moments of drama and suspense and by the time its elaborate plot starts to unravel, you will either have made the commitment to keep watching or have given up completely as you do have to suspend your disbelief quite a lot for this film. Tiger (played by Salman Khan) is a secret agent for India's intelligence bureau and lives for his job which he is good at as evident in the nearly thirty minute long opening sequence in which he is double-crossed and cornered by half a dozen men yet manages to beat them all up and escape with hardly a scratch on him. That encounter took place somewhere in Morocco, it has been used as the venue for many action scenes in Hollywood films as well. Afterwards, Tiger returns to India where he is sent on a new mission to Ireland to keep track of a professor whom the bureau believes in leaking sensitive information to Pakistan. Upon Tiger's arrival, he scopes out the professor and finds it hard to believe that such man who is so engrossed in his duties at the university could be spy. Nevertheless, he proceeds on his mission to keep track of the man. One day, while he's watching the professor, he notices movement in the professor's home after the professor has left to walk his dog and sneaks in to investigate, inside he finds a woman dancing around as she cleans the home, feeling that she is being watched she turns around and it's Katrina Kaif (yup bad acting in something even as simple as turning around and looking surprised) and Tiger is immediately smitten. He devises a plan to get to know her by pretending he doesn't have a place to stay and she offers him room and board and sooner rather than later they begin dating. Tiger continues to receive his Intel via his assistant played by Ranvir Shorey and the relationship between Zoya (Kaif's character) and Tiger blossoms until one night when Tiger receives a phone call and is told that a transmission is being sent from the professor's home while Tiger and the professor are out watching a play together. Tiger races to the intercept the transmission and catches the culprit in the act, with his gun trained on the culprit he asks the person to turn around with their hands up. What happens next and the result of that makes up the rest of the film. Hey! Wait didn't that happen to James Bond in Casino Royal? Aryan "Mr A" in Dhoom 2? Shekhar Verma in Khakee? You know what, I could go on and on with this. I rate it 4/10. The music was good though, especially the song that played when the lovers were in Havana, Cuba.
