Down with Your Hands... You Scum! Trailers

This audaciously dishonest spaghetti western from prolific director Demofilo Fidani (using the pseudonym "Lucky Dickerson") was created piecemeal using lengthy sequences from Fidani's previous films. The premise has legendary gunslinger Django (Hunt Powers) recounting some of his greatest adventures to a rapt Wild Bill Hickock (Gerardo Rossi as Jerry Ross) in a saloon. The stories which Django tells are entire scenes from such Fidani films as Arrivano Django e Sartana... E la Fine! (1970), Inginocchiati Straniero... i Cadaveri non Fanno Ombra (1971), and Quel Maledetto Giorno d'Inverno Django e Sartana... all'Ultimo Sangue (1971). Fidani regulars Gordon Mitchell, Dennis Colt and Lucky McMurray also appear.

THE DJANGO STORY is a low budget but action-packed little spaghetti western offering that's a lot of fun for seasoned viewers of the genre. Hunt Powers plays a crippled man in black, Django in some prints, who has a hit list in his wallet (very much like Arya in GAME OF THRONES) and is gradually working his way through said names on a mission of vengeance. There's not much more depth to the story than that, but this film boasts strong, isolated desert locations and a wealth of violent and ruthless shoot-outs. Director Demofilo Fidani is keen to imitate the great Sergio Leone and stages one showdown in a quarry in EXACTLY the same manner as that of the famous climactic scene in THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. Genre regular Gordon Mitchell has a small role and makes the best of it, and overall this is light and fun.
