Probably one of the rare instance where the successor is better than the predecessor. And yes, solely the credit should go Hritik Roshan for setting the screen ablaze with his electrifying presence. Truly he had added sheen to every frame he is present in. And yes, neatly providing hand-in-glove support is Aishwarya and in honesty the due credit should be given. The only disappointment is her performance which was "like" artificial, while on the other hand Hritik's perfection clearly left its mark. Jr. B was completely overshadowed by Hritik. I guess Dhoom 2 was Hritik's payback for Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, and my my!!Uday Chopra is good in the edited role. Anything more would have spoilt the feast. His pairing was akin to 48 Hours, Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour. Bipasha's sole intention seemed to flaunt her figure which she succeeds. And the double-role was a pot-hole in the storyline.Rimi Sen's character was simply loud and should have been left out (just like Eesha Deol). In fact they should have borrowed the franchise idea from Munnabhai.Songs take a while to grow on you unlike the Dhoom where it was instant hit. Choreography deserves a special mention, and yes Vaibhavai Merchant proved she is second to none.Action sequences are well done. Noteworthy are suspenseful interplay between Hritik and Aishwarya & Hritik and Jr. B. Some good writing there indeed and remind you of Tarantino in Kill Bill.Indeed Dhoom had a great potential to churn it into a successful franchise sadly the politics it has run into mars the chances. Needless to say, if it were to go forward Dhoom II has definitely set the bar quite high.

This overlong sequel to Dhoom has a much bigger budget. Hrithik Roshan takes on the role of the villain and is coolness personified. The stunts are all very impressive by Hindi film standards, apart from an opening number on a train. Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya provide the glamor element and both look stunning. Aishwarya has a catchy dance number "Crazy Kiya Re". Uday is fine while poor Abhishek is saddled with the boring conventional role. The story makes little sense but the film is well-paced, and the fine stunts and dance numbers are enough to merit a visit to the theater.Overall 7/10

Dhoom 2 is a fast film with many stunts, many dance moves and unfortunately a few problems. I thought that the plot came across as strange and the ending was just not right. It seems more like a leeway to show off Hrithik Roshan and Aishwariya Rai's bodies than an action/detective movie. And with Abhishek B. and Uday Chopra running around in the background treated merely as non-original humor-arousers, Rai and Roshan attract the most attention. Although their ostentatious attraction for each other is sizzling, their feelings in the inside are not worth the watch. It is only confusing. It's like… "I am using you…NO wait I actually love you! Because your gorgeous and a spy…OR not because of that…." Honestly…I saw this movie five months ago and that's the only thing I remember from it. Aishwariya Rai's body is wow but her acting is average, especially when she decides to talk like a western bubblehead. Hrithik Roshan looks good but cannot save the film from it's lameness. The songs are in the same nature of those in Dhoom 1.

The first movie Dhoom will always be a favourite of mine, it tried something different compared to what other Bollywood movies are doing, it was about a series of Heists. The film was tolerable even though it copied various American movies.Dhoom 2 was terrible in my eyes. The film tries to have some great robbery towards the start which only screams "I'm trying to hard".Hrithik Roshan is someone I don't necessarily like, but his commitment in trying different movies is something I admire but this role was terrible even for him. Dhoom may have had some flaws in terms of the plot but this film had flaws on every corner. Uday seems to act like an idiot when ever he is on screen, Abhishek is trying to imitate his fathers past roles and Bipasha, lets face it. The only reason she was in the film was because of her breasts. Ashwariya cannot act , even if her life depended on it.Now the action. The action in this film is beyond even what science fiction films are coming up with, a normal cop who stays underwater for more then 20 minutes without a oxygen tank. To many ridiculous things to mention so I will just say, stay away from this movie, a waste of your time.
