Victor DiMattia is wonderful as that little lovable moppet Dennis from funny paper fame. As Dennis is brought to life, the laughs come fast and furiously in this utterly delightful comedy romp. The neighborhood is in an uproar when the tyke finds a dinosaur bone in the yard and a notorious paleontologist is dispatched to investigate. During the resulting did in the tiny dynamo's front garden, all mayhem breaks out and chaos reigns supreme. A stellar cast is uproarious and the direction couldn't be more sharp. Especially observant satire on neighborhood politics and feuds. For anyone who loves kids, dinosaurs, and life.
... View Morei seen this poor done comic film.but it would been better if they used a family that wasn't based on nothing.the movie starts as Denise finds a dinosaur bone in his back yard, and a fakewho claims to be a dinosaur hunter comes to stay with the family.and he is real annoying too.the film did not deliver much laughs.the only two funny things in the movie was when Denise tries to sneak that fudge candy to his room and the scene where Mr Wilson's washer overflowed.it would be a better film if it involved a different character.the 93 version was a real one.this one wasn't a Denise the menace at all. and i saw this one 2 or 3 times a month when it was on HBO.
... View MoreSometihing tells me that this film was a live action version of the cartoon because DIC Enterprises(the company that produced the cartoon)produced this film also and the film title in the opening credits was identical to the one in the cartoon. Wouldn't you agree? I wonder if they have this film on DVD or if they even had it in VHS circulation. I used to watch syndicated reruns on the Disney channel 15 years ago and it was played on Encore WAM! 2 years ago. I t was pretty weird that they were considering turning Dennis' neighborhood into a dinosaur amusement park after he found that dinosaur bone. There were some parts where Dennis was a little rebellious to his parents.
... View MoreI taped this movie when it first aired on television. My children made me watch it every week for almost a year!! The taping quality was very bad so I was EXTREMELY happy to see it is out on video. I think this version of Dennis the Menace is the best I have ever seen. I wish I could see it on "the big screen!"
