This was intolerable. (SPOILER #1) Protagonists avoid the pointless disclosure of agonizing truths to their loved ones, lest they surrender said status and assume the roles of Antagonists. (SPOILER #2) The writers would have us believe that the exposure of multiple transgressions, by the transgressor, presents a threat to, and provokes a retaliatory response by, the primary victim of the transgressions. (SPOILER #3) Until the final 15 minutes, I was anticipating a score of 6 to 8 out of 10; instead, it was kind of like discovering that Lieutenant Columbo's dog is the REAL murderer. The story just wasn't credible, and I don't think the world's best director could have saved it without massive editing.

I really enjoyed this movie, the actors are all great. At first you kind of find yourself feeling sorry for the mother, but as it progresses you realize it is her own doing that is making her so miserable. I have watched it 2-3 time and enjoyed each time. I usually do not watch anything I have seen before. I would love to know the song his daughter sang. I have watched this movie 2-3 times and the song eludes me each time. I try to see it in credits, but writing is too small. If anyone knows the song please help.I read in one of the other comments where someone thought she was a good singer, maybe that person can help me. I really was not able to get to many words to the song as I came into room just as she stopped sing, or the went to another scene.Thank you. mapa-2

I know this is a made for TV movie, and the acting in made for TV movies is usually sub-par, but it's absolutely horrendous in this film. Sometimes acting gets so bad it's laughable, but in this case, it's so bad it's sickening.

I had not heard of this film before I saw it listed in TV Guide for tonight (8/5/02) on the Lifetime channel. Any film with Richard Crenna draws my immediate attention. I was not disappointed; he gave his usual flawless performance. The actress who played his middle daughter gave a rather overwrought performance at times; however, if she actually did her own singing, she has a great voice.Angie Dickenson portrays a character one feels little sympathy for; therefore, when she turns up missing again, one does not really feel the loss--but can certainly sympathize with her distraught daughter. The rest of the film does indeed reveal deep family secrets. This film will keep you guessing.
