I'm writing this review just for the sake of contributing another 10 star rating for this movie. If that can make a slight difference, then I would be as satisfied as I was, after watching this movie. First things first, Mohanlal deserved a national award for this. If this can't get you one, then I suppose the jury made a huge mistake that year. He just lived it and it would be undermining if I said that even his fingers acted with emotions at times. It brought tears to my eyes and, trust me, I don't usually cry that often watching movies Coming to the story and direction, this movie was far ahead of it's time. I really did a background research to know if any movie was made on the same plot anywhere else and failed to find one, which proves it. Every actors did justice to their respective roles, especially Nedumudi Venu and Karamana. Songs were timed perfectly and didn't really spoil the feel. If you haven't watched the movie, please do right now and come back to give a 10 star rating. C'mon we should make our opinions hear loud or else these movies won't get the appreciation they deserve.

I thought Dasharatham was one of those movies where despite all the hype, the movie is not good. Even the first 30 mins or so will make you think that this wont be a good movie. BUT THE MOVIE IS MARVELOUS. The last 45 mins of the movie is so special. The performances of Murali and Mohanlal are exceptional. And Sibi Malayil proves that he is one of the best directors of malayalam cinema. One of the things I didn't find satisfactory was that of Rekha's performance. But even so it's definitely worth a watch.

I watched this movie when couple of my friends suggested me to watch it for the story and performance of each casts. Movie was very good. Very good storyline with flawless script. However, Mohanlal was highly disappointing. His eyes were not stable and he was completely out of idea how to carry on with the role. He was only trying to act like a rich, modern, careless man turning to be a responsible father. However, he was not successful. He also seemed to be very artificial and conscious in majority of the scenes. Adding to his performance, I am not sure why the director chose Rekha. Not in a single scene she portrayed her role well. Others' performance were good. If you look at the story perspective, I would give 10/10.

We all know how talented Mohanlal is. This movie is just another example. But here the focus point is not Mahanlal, not Murali, not any of the stars. Its simply the story. I can never imagine a Malayalam movie with a concept of artificial insemination in late eighties. The boldness of the concept together with the excellent narration gives the movie gives the viewer the ultimate experience. The climax is the best of all scenes in the movie. I always broke into tears when I watch this scene, its such a touching scene where our maestro tells viewers, there is relationship with hearts between people which stands taller than relationship with blood. Hats off to Sibi Malayil. You are the best! Dany
