After finding an ad online for “video work,” Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men, thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man claiming to be a serial killer. Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him. However, as the day goes on, she discovers she may have dug herself into a hole from which she can’t escape.

If you liked the first one, you'll like this too. If you hated the first, you'll hate this too.Mark duplasses acting is just as bad as the first movie. The co-stars acting is slightly better. The story is just as dumb and implausible. The "scary moments" still don't work. The majority of the film is still painfully boring.

The thin line between humor and terror in these deeply uncomfortable horror films is fascinating and compelling. It's all about Duplass here; his choices on how to portray such a skin-crawling serial killer are so bold and specific, if you don't buy in the movie will tank. I, for one, dig what he's doing. Maybe this one isn't quite as shocking as the first, but it's still an insanity riddled good time.

CREEP 2 is a lacklustre follow-up to a film which really didn't require a sequel at all, being as self-contained as it was. This is another found footage two-hander about a woman who answers a job advert and comes to work for an exceptionally creepy guy. Given that we now know about the villain there's no need for a twist ending, so violence takes place earlier. However, this is mainly reliant on jump scares and the like which feels very predictable, and more wolf mask antics just feel predictable by now. The twist ending barely raises an eyebrow.
