I saw this last week at a Seattle film festival (STIFF) and was really impressed with how good this movie is. It takes a couple beats to develop, but then just keeps surprising you with unexpected excellence. This a surprisingly good date film that manages to avoid all the pitfalls present with such potentially touchy subject matter. With one of the better meet-cutes you'll ever see, there's a lot of imagination in the script that manages to get you laughing while always building the story forward. It should leave you smiling, thinking, and seeing more of the possibilities of the world. There are a couple spots that almost fail (an unexplained relationship, a late admission that seems more puzzling than informative), but the film carries it all with its great heart and loving humor.
