Capulina vs. the Monsters Trailers

A very fun film dealing with the overweight comedian Capulina in yet another one of his many similar type of films. This particular film deals with Capulina trying to escape from the Mummy, Frankenstein, Dracula etc. and that is what the whole film is about: one malevolus cientific try to conquer the world using the legendary monsters, but he will need the fear of the people to give themn strenght and only one person is capable of give him enough power: Capulina.

Like Clavillazo (and unlike the super-talented, genuinely amusing Tin-Tan), Capulina is another infantile Mexican comedian who spends an inordinate amount of footage poking faces at the camera, rather than doing something even mildly funny. Although Capulina himself is a dead loss in "Capulina contra los monstruos" ("Capulina Versus the Monsters", 1974), at least he is surrounded here by a great support cast, led by sexy Gloriella (in her movie debut) as the sterile comic's girl friend, Irlanda Mora as the vamp of vamps, and Hector Andremar as the inevitable mad scientist. To this roll-up, we must of course add the quartet of monsters who, despite the film's seemingly excessive 85 minutes of running time, are not given all that much to do before they finally escape. This movie is available on 7/10 SomethingWeird DVD.

This is a great film for the whole family, I have the luck to have it on VCD on my movie collection, Its about one of Méxicos most loved comedians called "Capulina" Mr. Gaspar Henaine, he was a true hero to kids and a great comedian to adults, there is no kid that you can't mention "Pastel de Chocolate con Helado de Vainilla" and everyone recalls seeing this film as a kid living in Mexico. Capulina is a newspaper and magazines salesman that gets to know a mad Dr. who has waken up the old classic Movie Monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman and more,so he fights them his style and it gets funny and cool to us who loved CAPULINAS previous work. If anyone is interested in it try and locate me at my e-mail. Long live Capulina and all his movies.
