One person reviewing this video went way over the edge slamming it as though it was nothing but religious propaganda. All I can say to that complaint is that if a person is so offended by Christianity then they had best find another sport or interest because bull riding has more outspoken Christians taking part in it than any other. Yes, they pray, and you can see them. Yes, they wear crosses around their necks and you can see them too. Yes, they mention God (OMG!) even during interviews, where they credit Him for their success. or their talent, or their protection. A prayer for the safety of the riders precedes EVERY bull riding event, and the riders themselves put on informal worship services for themselves and anyone else who wants to attend, at the arena, before some events and if I recall correctly you see those things in this video too.Christianity is inherently and inextricably part of this sport for many if not most of its participants. If that offends you, find another video, but really, you need to just find another sport. (However, the bull riding documentary "Adrenaline Cowboys", unusual for a bull riding video, somehow manages to omit any mention of God.) By the way, the label of this DVD does state that as it follows the lives of a few bull riders, that it shows their love of family, country, and GOD. Got it?If Christianity offends a person, then they'd best find another sport with God-free videos. Maybe basketball or football, whose participants regularly get busted for violence or drugs or weapons charges, would prove more tolerable and inoffensive to that other poster. While I was never the most religious person on Earth I have to admit I was quite impressed, and drawn to this sport, by the spirituality of so many of its riders.
... View MoreWhen I first heard about this movie, I was a bit hesitant. I decided to purchase the film anyways and I was pleasantly surprised. The cinematography was excellent, the direction was clean, and the story was really amazing. There is some religious content in it, but so be it. Welcome to the sport that has these athletes put themselves in harms way and have a belief. In all reality, like any sport, there are those with faith and those without. Hey, this is coming from a guy who hasn't gone to church in 10 years. This film conveyed very well what Bullriding is truly is about and what goes on behind the scenes. It is just amazing to see these guys in action. I think Josh Aronson did some of his best work here.I recommend this film fully.
... View MoreThis movie is CLEARLY made by a bunch of Jesus freaks that just used the PBR as a way to further their religious cause. Every other scene is of people praying, talking about how "Jesus has blessed them" or a close up of a cross necklace. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of biblical rhetoric, I'd watch a Jim Bakker video.I am so mad that I purchased this DVD. If I would have known that it was a DVD riddled with religious garbage I would have never bought it. If you wanted to make a Jesus film that happened to have a few bull riders in it than fine, call it that. Don't market it as a bull riding DVD that is really about furthering your religious beliefs.I am SURE that Justin McBride would NOT have participated in the filming of this DVD if he had known what your were planning to do with it. And you must of had one heck of time editing out the F word every other sentence during Justin's interviews...Hahaha.Shame on you writers/director for misrepresenting this film. You are taking advantage of people and their cash.
