The awakening is 51st another lose remake trying to copy the originality and fresh feel of the first of two teenagers falling in love.A modern day retelling has Emma and Dean on a high school trip aboard seas. Already the plot seems out there as Natlie Holloway had gone missing in the Bahamas five years earlier and all future school trips like this were banned. While the other events are completely ignored and we seen the same experiences before it didn't really pick up until the rescue from the search part.Brooke Sheilds and Christopher Atkins making guest appearances as A parent to each child.Emma being a popular girl, well Dean's not, tries to push her feelings aside and go on with her life like nothing happened. More of a stretch is that Dean was the masculine sexy broading type who wouldn't be so uncool or a girl would be ashamed to take home to mama. The theme I liked explored here that was touched on in the sequel was you never knew if the couples belonged together or its a matter of convince.Dean and Emma chose each other at the end based on mural attractions and inner self they learned about one another in a secured space. It was more enjoyable then return and felt this was the follow up we've been waiting for.8/10
... View MoreI don't like a lot of island movies but this one was really good I really loved the part where they started like each other more and the scenery really good I just hope they make a second with the same actors. I think that they could have stayed a little longer and gone into if she really was pregnant some movies they don't go in depth. But this is a great movie if you watch it people say that it is bad but I love it I never watched the other ones but this one I repeat was amazing you won't be sorry. So if you think this movie is good please say so these actors need praise instead of not having any good reviews just bad ones.
... View MoreThere are quite a few things wrong with this film, yet a few redeeming features too. Firstly, the script is awful. The cheesy one liners are woeful, and some of the ways the parents react are painful, although that is as much the acting than the script. So, the acting. The main leads, Thwaites and Evans, do as much as they can with a limited script, and looking beyond the American accents, bearing in mind they are both Australian, they don't do a bad job. They do actually create very intimate love scenes and keep the film going, and by the end of the movie, you do actually feel sad as Evans plays hard to get after all the attention they are getting. Also, they have obviously been picked for their looks, and not necessarily for their acting skills, and so much of it is filmed with minimal clothes on, which i must admit isn't a bad thing for the guys out there, and I'm sure the girls wont complain too. Overall, a rubbish script but with a nice deeper story and an intimate love story create by decent actors.
... View MoreThe plot of this movie differs a little from the other two Blue Lagoon movies, in the fact that they are not stranded as little kids, and grow up on the island. Emma and Dean are high school teens who get stranded on the island after a boat party mishap. After that, you can easily guess the rest. The acting is very good, and there are some beautiful shots of scenery. I also like the fact that we see the friends and families of the stranded kids, searching and worrying back on the mainland. The movie focuses on these characters as well as the island teens, and that makes for a better storyline than the first two movies, in which all film time was spent on the island. This is a better TV movie than many I've seen. It's definitely not Oscar material, but you won't regret seeing it. 8/10
