That might be part of the problem.Oh wait. NO IT ISN'T.I was so excited about the concept. Batman was born on Japan. And all the Batman Universe are Ninjas (or from that era).THE TRAILER WAS AMAZING!And in 1 minute all that dream was dead. Time Travel crap with the DUMBEST DC CHARACTER GRODD?From there... it was all downhill. The animation in the fights was perfect, so it was all about the ridiculous story and script. It was sad to watch and Japanese pop culture at its worst (well, almost)

If you're looking for strong characters, a deep plot and biting dialogue then this is unlikely to scratch that itch. However, if you're like me and prefer your superheroes to be big, bold, brash and utterly disdainful of reality, then this is a real treat. It's the antithesis of the po-faced, grittier Batman style that has dominated in recent years. Hang your disbelief from the nearest hook and enjoy one of the most playful and exuberant animations DC have ever been involved with. Transporting a whole bunch of heroes and villains to feudal Japan allows for some highly creative takes on familiar characters and some amazing set-piece battles. Everything is wrapped up in a beautiful art style with textured backgrounds reminiscent of ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The fights are pure anime exuberance.By the time you get to the monkeys, you'll have either decided that this really isn't for you or you'll be grinning like a green-haired madman!

The animation is amazing, a perfect mixture of 3D models with comic books/anime style shading. The voice acting is more than what I expected from a dubbed version, no weird pauses and rarely seems out of place. The plot however, does not hold up. It feels like they had a bunch of good ideas and thought it would be a great movie if they combined all of it, it was not great movie. Until the giant robots appeared it was okay, after that it went downhill. But the main problem I have with this movie is not the monkey army turning into a giant monkey or "God Batman". It's the final fight between Batman and the Joker. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing action sequence but at the end Batman somehow gains the ability to turn into swarms of bats. It's pretty cool but the movie offers no explanations at all and doesn't get mentioned by anyone, if the movie showed one scene of him getting powers, the movie would have gotten a solid 7 from me.6/10: Definitely worth seeing for the animation and the voice acting. The plot is just meh.

Yeah I can't lie, this one hurts a little. Batman gets attacked by a group of guys wearing Joker masks and the first thing he yells is, "WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?!!!?"... and a million other stupid things. I think this film was just trying to do too much and didn't and enough time to, na. I can not make excuses for this. It is a dumpster fire. Avoid it at all costs.
