After that 70's show she really made some good film choices. This one is kinda iffy. Especially when billed as "Part 2" you sorta expect something similar to the original, not slap stick comedy. But is is a decent comedy, just don'e expect ANYTHING like the original. Because you will be disappointed. How the writers came up with this using the title of the movie is confusing. It's a light, snarky teen comedy. Not the dark suspense of the original. But to each their own. I just thought viewers needed to know what they are getting into because AP was a great disturbing film. That fulfilled it's title well. This one is a little deceiving, but seeing Kunis AND SHATNER in the credits would make most figure it can't be ANYTHING like the original. Their careers are not drawn down that dark path

Thankfully, I caught this on one of the On Demand channels, so basically no money was spent on this piece of garbage. This shouldn't have been linked to American Psycho in any way. It seemed like there was an idea for a film, they knew they wouldn't profit much on it, and so they slapped the name of a successful film on it to fix the problem. Everything that was perfect about the first film was stripped away and replaced with teen slasher clichés and pure annoyance. I could barely make it through and nearly turned it off several times. It's rare that a sequel is able to stand up to the initial installment, but for a sequel to be so horrible that I nearly give up on it entirely is something completely different. If you're a fan of American Psycho, slasher films, films in general, avoid this one. Terrible. Just awful.

American Psycho II is a vague sequel that has no real message behind it. This is a movie that was made to entertain, and while it does entertain a bit in a few mild twists, none of it adds up to anything that is noteworthy. The first American Psycho was graphic, definitely and obscenely superfluous, sickly entertaining, and the only real saving aspect of it for people who find everything listed hitherto to be immature was the existential ending. It could have been told without the pulp aspects. The book elaborates more on the existential themes (a great quote: "What we see is subjective. Reality is what we do not.")The second American Psycho has nothing, absolutely nothing, that can remotely be considered as intelligence.Though, intelligence aside, let us look at the entertainment: The production values are mediocre, the killings not shocking or anything revelatory (innovative). The only thing different is someone being choked by a condom. If that is something that sounds like a superb thing to put in a script, then perhaps this is a movie for you.Even so, the whole movie felt like a waste of time. There are so many loopholes and there was no real climax- maybe the twist at the end, which felt like nothing all that shocking - and then, add to this, the very predictable ending that is really nothing but a giant loophole. If you enjoy serial killer or slasher flicks, this is a disappointing. If you enjoy psychological thrillers, there is absolutely no hint of this genre except for in one scene that touches upon serial killers - this was the best part. It is underdeveloped, as in, from that very point on there is no reference to it. If you enjoy dramas, this movie is lame and uninspiring. If you enjoy movies, this is a movie to avoid.

Though it's a good film, I've never been the biggest fan of the original "American Psycho" (starring Christian Bale and based on the bestseller by Brett Easton Ellis). Maybe that was a good thing when I popped in this loose sequel, as it offers us a new and more or less stand-alone storyline. Years ago, Rachael (Mila Kunis) was the only surviving victim of serial killer Patrick Bateman. She was just a little kid back then and apparently even managed to kill Bateman, thus ending his killing spree. That's about the only thing that ties this sequel to the original. Now Rachael has become a luscious student on a mission to become an FBI agent, to kill more serial killers. But not only those depraved souls. No, she's bonkers enough to eliminate everyone who gets in her way. Or just kill for fun even, as a little practice never hurts.I believe "AP2: AAG" gets a bad reputation simply for being a sequel to a more famous, theatrically released movie. Being produced & marketed as a sequel, it was an easy target for people to just label it as inferior or commonly bad. But it's not. "AP2: AAG" stands very well on its own. It's funny, gruesome at moments and has a good pace & fine twists in the mix. Normally I'm not in favor of a movie throwing a whole bunch of (hip) songs on the soundtrack, but here they actually worked and were pretty much in sync with the whole (light-hearted) feel of the film. The gorgeous Mila Kunis delivers a delightfully enthusiastic performance and was well-cast in her role. Even William Shatner has a chance to do some good things again with his character of FBI-agent-turned-teacher Starkman. Seriously, people, forget about the original, just lighten up and at least try to enjoy this sequel. I did, and it wasn't a problem.
