If there's no other movie to watch and would like to kill a couple of hours to watch a bad film look nowhere else...this is the movie to watch. Just make sure to start using your brain again after the movie is finished (if you have patience to finish it).

Through the Mitch Rapp novels, Vince Flynn not only paid homage to the great clandestine action heroes such as Jack Ryan, Jason Bourne, and James Bond, he created a strong and loyal fan-base all his own. After his untimely passing, Flynn's fictional characters have continued to live on and carry on his legacy as one of the best modern action writers. When I heard this film was being made, I was truly excited to see it and was hoping that I would see a film worthy of Flynn's skills as a writer. Despite my initial excitement, I missed seeing the film in theaters but was still determined to see it and eventually was able to actually purchase the film. Perhaps it was my high expectations but this film was nothing but a disappointment to me. I have grown up watching action films and this is the definition of a forgettable movie. The plot is one that checks the boxes in order to be considered an spy action movie, however that is all it does. There is uniqueness to the film, it is a great film to have droning on in the background while you're doing something else. Dylan O'Brien does a decent job of playing an embittered man Hellbent on revenge against those responsible for murdering his fiancee. However, it is difficult to like his character and I had a hard time siding with him simply because of how much of an asshole he was towards those around him. Michael Keaton once again showed why he is one of the most under-appreciated actors in Hollywood and it does my heart good to see his career enjoying the revival it deserves. The secondary characters were all bland and simply there to fill space and the villain, played by Taylor Kitsch, was the stereotypical former good guy done wrong out for revenge against his former employers. The action scenes were, again, bland, and that word is a great way to sum up this film. Great if you're looking to have something on but not something that is worth your money or your investment.

Could be a nice action movie but bad acting and casting made it just poor. Dylan O'Brian doesnt convince at all as member of a special force fighting terrorrists. Michael Keaton as a "tough-as-nail former U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. ???? What a joke .... he didnt even bothered ( or couldnt at all ) get in shape for the role ... well , the other actors follow the same lead , none of them convince .... This could be a nice ( and common ) "chase the bad guys" action movie but the non convincing acting just made it disapointing and poor ...
