After a mysterious extraterrestrial object lands in the mining town of Salena, Arizona, the government dispatches a team of marines to contain the possible threat. Meanwhile, a group of death row inmates ambush their prison bus and take the guards and personnel aboard hostage. Arriving in the seemingly deserted town, they come across the Special Ops captain, the sole survivor of a horrible carnage that's decimated the rest of his unit. In the first of several explosions in this(except for one that is real, they are all poorly CGI'ed, so don't get your hopes up), an alien craft crashes onto Earth. I think, we barely see it. Anyway, this really worries the senior citizens working at Luke Airforce base, so they send out some bubble-gum-chewing soldiers, only for them to die at the hand of confusing quick cuts, some of which may contain a trace of the creatures. Well, this flick mainly concerns itself with the prisoners escaping their transport bus who bring along the guards as hostages(complete with an attractive female working at the pen, just to complete the rip-off of Con Air... and *yes*, there is even someone who needs medical attention among them) who find themselves in a seemingly abandoned town that is obviously where the extra-terrestrials are hiding. One of the criminals thinks he's Michael Madsen(don't feel bad, at first glance, I kinda thought you were, too, dude), and he's kind of in charge. There's some tension and a few physical fights, and if the characters weren't so boring, stereotypical and clichéd, we'd probably care. We do eventually see the outer space beings for more than a single frame, and the designs are decent(if one is unmistakably a man in a suit), if there's little violence or gore. Even the sex scene is merely hinted at! Come on, this isn't an artistic piece, it's a B movie, don't you know your audience? This nearly always shuns away from what we want to see! There are two hot chicks in this, though. The acting is pretty bad. This is only 83 minutes sans credits, and it simply doesn't deliver what we expect of it. It isn't entertaining(not even in the "so bad it's good" way), and it tries to be smarter than it is, and fails(and if it didn't, it would still be aiming wrong). Also, at times, it's like they just learned how to use the equipment; at one point they clearly move too close to the lighting setup, and with some footage, it's very easy to tell that it was sped-up. I recommend this only to those who won't listen to the warning. Oh, and conspiracy theorists might get a kick out of the very opening and the "bonus scene" at the end. 1/10

Right on Colmyster. I totally concur with all your sentiments and add these. I came to my PC especially to post a comment on this dreadful (minus)Bgrade movie. I was going to say that in this day and age I am at a loss to comprehend how anyone could possibly make such a woeful movie - but you beat me to it. Anyone reading this and Colmyster's comment, trust me ---- DON't waste you time and money. It's an absolute shocker. The acting is totally pathetic, the script is way worse, and the (so called) special effects are a joke. Surely no-one actually invested money to make this movie? I really cannot think of anything else to say about this so called horror sci-fi product, but must pad this commentary to make 10 lines of comment in order to have it accepted for submission.

You have to see this film. It is straight to DVD, but could have been a theatrical release. It is a great popcorn movie with all the elements you expect from a sci-fi- action- adventure- horror film. The scoop: Prisoners escape while being transported, and take a couple of cops and a prison doctor hostage. They make their way to the nearest small town, Salina, and everything is going perfect for the escapees. The action gets intense at this point, the escape plan unravels, and the prisoners finally come to terms with the fact that aliens are loose in Salina and are eating people one by one. The alien creatures are live action and are realistic in a SCI-FI channel monster movie kind of way. The dialogue is witty, sharp and realistic. If you like intense, sci-fi adventure, take a look at this gem. Only available from Japan now. You will need a NTSC DVD compatible player to view. Running Time: 87mins. NTSC Format Layers: single-sided/single-layered Aspect Ratio(s): 16:9 LB Vista Regional Encoding: 2

This was by far the worst movie I've ever seen. And thats compared to Alexander, Fortress 2 and The new world.I should go back to blockbuster and ask for my money back along with compensation as it was a truly traumatic experience. For the first ten minutes i was changing the zoom on my widescreen TV because the actors seemed to be out of screen. I didn't think it was possible to make such a bad film in this day and age, i was wrong. While typing this message, I've thought of a good reason to buy this movie. A joke present at Xmas. I'm blaming the Mrs for this one as she picked it, thanks babe.Be warned.......A true shocker all round!!!!!!
