This over the top horror movie surprised me because it just kept getting better. Maybe the special effects are not top notch but there very functional to the story. Adam of course steels the show here but all the other actors are given they're moments and I especially liked the crime boss and his way of reasoning. It made me think of manga films but than without the Japanese quirkiness and to me it seem to represent a sort serious absurdity. Besides that there was interesting visuals of the city that some times felt really gritty while in other scenes some what simple but not disturbing in any way.I don't know what the budget was on this but I guess its low and there for high in regard because I put it on the same level as the crow and even the matrix, which I both loved and would rate even higher than this but they also cost a tenfold more than this movie if not even more. Some what sad to see so little reviews on this but maybe its because its Italian or just not everybody's cup of tea.If you are some one like me who likes something different now and again I highly recommend this Italian bloody espresso horror.Enjoy!

Adam Chaplin is an Italian horror film whereby the protagonist seeks revenge on those who killed his wife, aided and abetted by a demon who kind of lurks just behind him. Those who have reviewed this to date seem to love it based, it appears, on the vast amount of blood and violence it contains.I thought it was awful. Visually unappealing, technically poor, with a demon comprising a woefully unexpressive headmask. Dire special effects, ropey acting. But, yes, lakes of blood. Lakes and lakes of it.This is rubbish. Don't waste your time.

A homage to hyperviolent wuxia anime, supernatural vengeance flicks, and grindhouse, this bukkake of blood delivers more splatter for the platter than the filthiest gokkun fest. The directorial and acting debut of one Emanuele De Santi, this supernatural revenger flick plays out like some twisted hybrid of The Crow and Fist of The North Star, surpassing the live-action version of the latter in terms of sheer spectacle. A colourful cast, including some monstrous yet oddly sympathetic villains, help keep things ticking over between the bloodjaculatory set pieces. A testament to the fact that one can stretch a tight budget a long way. Hopefully, this'll not be the last seen of Santi.

Italia offered such of the best horror movies in the last 50 years. When Italian filmmakers took some movie genre (western), they recreate the genre in such a way that become better than the original. If we watch spaghetti westerns, then is hard to see American western without the music of Ennio Morricone and the cinematography of Sergio Leone. This movie is like a western. We see a history with love, revenge, and even the bad gay has codes with his family and the society. De De Santi's brothers made a movie full of love for horror, western, action and martial arts. If we go deeper, this kind of movies is a signature. The movie define your career. And the De Santi's brothers will make the best gift for the people who like what is our life and soul. The music, the photography, the special effects (the japan movies like Machine Girl and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl are Bambi in comparison), show the best lesson: if you have a low budget, you can d miracles. And this movie is a miracle.
