A man called nereus I would have to say is a cross between... I don't know not much compares to it... Okay, I think I have it. Its like Breaking Bad on a really good acid trip. The opening scene really plays with your head as you think you are watching something completely different than what you signed up for. The whole movie is like that, constantly twisting and turning. "Nereus" played by David Hayes is spot on. He makes you really feel for the character, especially when "Keith" played by Seth Gandrud finds him in captivity. Hill has us moving constantly through what looks like Arizona, California and Mexico with tight editing and fluid camera work. The beach scenes look like they are in the middle of nowhere and are outstanding. My favorite scene is in the glider with Dani Danger. The cinematography is so breathtaking, you feel like you are in the cock pit. This film wreaks of ambition and maybe at times over-stretches, like with its characters. I wanted to know more and didn't want it to end. The ending spells out a sequel which would give the whole story its due. Overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to more work from this director and cast.
... View MoreI was able to see this film on its premiere at the Phoenix Comicon and let me tell you I was stunned, especially when I saw the budget. Throughout the movie I was captivated, always anticipating what was going to happen next. There was no shortage of characters as they kept popping up through the film. The acting was also very solid. There was no sense that they were trying to hard like most B actors do. As the film carried through to the end I understood why the writer was raising so many questions because a sequel will be soon to follow -at least that's what I am hoping for. I have seen many nano-budget films and have always been let down until now. I definitely recommend this flick because at the end of the day its really good.
