... View MoreDhanush, take a bow. Shruti, feel free to join in. I don't really know why this movie was named 3, but my 3 would be Dhanush, Shruti and the music. This movie transforms scenes familiar to any Indian teenager into a moving tale of love and leaves your heart aching for the characters. Masala flicks be damned, if this is the direction Indian cinema is headed towards, stop the train cause i'm all abroad. Not worth missing. The music sets the mood and moves your soul into the capable hands of the lead actors who don't waste any time squeezing out pain and joy and the rest of the emotional spectrum from the viewers. The director, Aishwarya Dhanush made no mistakes with the casting choices. I don't really see any other actors who could have breathed such life into the lead characters. Supporting actors pull off their jobs with élan.Really makes you appreciate the talent pool in the Indian film industry.Keep up the good work people. You just raised the bar for south Indian filmmakers.
... View Morethis movie might not appeal to the mass crowd looking for a typical family masala entertainment. but for some one who will enjoy serious sensible cinema, 3 is a definite watch. Its true that Dhanush has continued his genre of psychotic streak from Mayakkam Enna into this movie as well. But as débutant director, Aishwarya has created a movie that will keep you hooked through the entire stretch. The first half of the movie is light and fresh, and almost every teenager or adult will relate to it. the sweet and cute love story of two school kids, that grows into a relationship is well shown.the second half of the movie is a true showcase of Dhanush's acting. the darker shades of the character keeps up the suspense effect of the movie.i would definitely recommend this movie for anybody who wants to watch a sensible different movie, which isn't just a brainless entertainment.
... View MoreReally a Mokka movie u never saw....not even a 5 min entertainment in the movie...........Full of love, love and nothing found in the love.......More than Anirudh's massive hit Why this Kolvaeri DI, Kannazhaga pleases our ears more. The picturisation of the song Kolaveri, which went viral on the internet when released in November last year, doesn't match up to its popularity. Aishwarya's 3 is no exception. The hero suffers from a disease, but no valid explanation is given for that. Hiding Ram's illness from Janani is justified, but one wonders why Senthil didn't approach Ram's father who would've arranged for his treatment. Post-interval, the movie never gets a chance to rise. Dhanush and Shruti have performed well, both in romantic and emotional scenes. But their efforts have gone futile as audiences refuse to tolerate the same drama that they have already seen umpteen times. Shruti looks beautiful. Dhanush was not playing a mentally disturbed person for the first time in 3, and his acting has matured a lot.
