Biography

John Christian "Ceejay" Ledesma is a 20-year-old aspiring Filipino filmmaker currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Media Computing at West Visayas State University. His passion for filmmaking began in high school, where he took on roles as a director, editor, and writer for various school projects, including a short film adaptation of José Rizal's "Noli Me Tángere". Outside of school, he loved making visual reels and montages, which featured his friends, whom he also often cast in his own short films—created purely out of his love for storytelling. Furthermore, Ceejay isn’t always just behind the camera, as he sometimes steps into acting himself. Among his notable works in high school is the music video "Sound of Justice", which he co-directed and edited and which won 4th place in the 2nd Schools Division of Iloilo GAD Video-Making Contest. He was also part of the team behind the radio drama "Muramasa", which was an entry in his school's Radyokwento Fest 2021 and won Best Radio Production. Some of his personal films, such as UNO (2021), are available on his YouTube channel, Ceejay Ledesma, as well as his high school batch's channel, STE Fam 21, where he is credited for numerous projects. His latest work, Basi Bala (2025), is his most acclaimed project yet, having been selected as one of the official entries in the University of San Carlos - CINEMATA's 13th Sinedisipulo Festival. With his growing portfolio and dedication to filmmaking, we can expect Ceejay to soon become a name to watch out for.
